Welcome to Jam Cottage and Bakery! (At the Smith House)

Hi, I’m Stephanie. I make artisan jams and delicious baked goods, and sell them at Blue Springs Farmers Market on Saturday morning, as well as to customers through pickup in Independence.

Life is busy and fun At The Smith House - between homeschooling my daughter, being a wife and homemaker, our backyard chickens, our beloved dachshunds, my crochet addiction, and now my jam and bakery, I lead a fun and full life!

How long have you been baking? - All my life! My grandma taught me to bake when I was very young. It’s something we loved to do together. Now, I’m a homeschool mom and homemaker who loves to share delicious treats with my community.

How far ahead do you bake your goods? - I bake all day Friday for Saturday market. I want your treats to be as fresh as possible!

Do you use mixes? - NO! Everything At The Smith House is made from scratch, using high quality ingredients - real butter, local honey, milk from a local dairy, house made vanilla. It makes a difference!

Do you make sugar free or gluten free products? Not at this time. Sugar free jams require additional certification that I do not have. I am not skilled at sugar free or gluten free baking. I would love to learn someday, though! For right now, I have chosen to stick with what I am good at.

What jams are available this week? Check my announcements for a list of my current stock. If you would like to claim any of the listed jams in stock, send me a message and I will send you an invoice. You can pick up your order on Saturday morning at Blue Springs Farmers Market. Since my jams are small batch and very limited, I will only hold jams if they are paid for.

Can I order ahead? Yes! Please place your orders by 6 pm on Thursday night. I bake on Fridays for Saturday Blue Springs Farmers Market . Orders placed in advance need to be pre paid. I will send an invoice for payment by credit card.

Can I place an order for delivery? Can I pick up items or meet you somewhere during the week? Yes! We can deliver or meet in Independence with a $25 minimum order. For Blue Springs orders, I deliver on Tuesdays with a $25 minimum order and $5 delivery fee. For Lee’s Summit, I deliver on Thursday evenings with a $25 minimum and $5 delivery fee. For other areas in the Kansas City metro, send me a message to make arrangements.

I didn’t see you at the market Saturday! We try to make it to the Blue Springs Farmers Market at least twice a month. With that said, I don’t do well in the heat. If it’s going to be incredibly hot and humid, we stay home. If we are not going to make it, I try to make an announcement on our page.
