The Original Independence Farmers Market

The Original Independence Farmers Market The Original Independence Farmers Market is a community farmers market that began in 1993. The Market runs from the first weekend in April-November.

There are a variety of vendors that offer a variety of products such as fresh produce, plants, cut flowers, honey, breads, handcrafted items and much much more. The market was first located on C street in down town Independence as the market grew the vendors decided that they needed not only more space but better more friendly parking. Therefore the market moved down to the Riverview Park in Ind

ependence. When the city built the amphitheater, the market moved to the Sterling Bank parking lot, at the corner of Highway 51 and Main Street, where has remained for the past ten years. The market would like to extend its sincere thanks to Sterling bank for allowing the market to use their parking lot. Bring the family to the friendly market where everyone knows your name. There is plenty of parking including several handicap accessible parking spots. There is always plenty to do with the library located right next door. We are open 9am-2pm every Saturday. The Independence Farmers Market has been operating since 1993 and will be celebrating its 20th Anniversary this year. The market board and vendors are looking forward to celebrating the 20th Anniversary season with their customers on Opening Day, April 6th, 2013. Official celebrations will be held on July 13th at the market. This year the Market has created a Committee to put together a special activity for the people in the community to participate in. These activities will be held the first Saturday of every month. Mother's Day, Saturday, May 11th
Kids bring your mom to the Independence Farmers Market and plant a vegetable or flower to give to mom. The Original Independence Farmers Market is a member of the Monmouth Independence Chamber of Commerce and the Oregon Farmers Market Association.
