Kids Market is happening THIS SATURDAY!

Didn’t sign up ahead of time? No problem! Kid vendors are welcome to drop in and set up with us.

There are NO vendor fees for kids, so bring their crafts, artwork, bracelets, baked goodies, plants, or whatever they’ve been working on and let them give being a little entrepreneur a try!

UPDATE: The market WILL be happening tomorrow!

After our earlier post, several of our vendors and members of the community reached out and expressed interest in setting up tomorrow. With that support, we’ve decided to go ahead and open the Independence Riverview Saturday Market at Riverview Park.

Because this came together on very short notice, we may not have our usual full vendor attendance, but we are happy to be back in the park and able to support our vendors, our parks, and our community.

If you are a vendor and want to participate please come on and set up we will find a place for you!

We know the last few days have brought a lot of changes and uncertainty, and we truly appreciate everyone who has been patient and flexible with us.

If you’re out and about tomorrow, come stop by, visit the vendors who are able to make it, and help us celebrate being back at Riverview Park! 🥰

We have some wonderful news to share with our market community… Riverview Park has reopened!

After the unexpected closure and the uncertainty it brought to our vendors and community, we are incredibly grateful to be able to continue the Independence Riverview Saturday Market at Riverview Park for the remainder of our season. 🥰

That said, because we received this news so last-minute, we will NOT be reopening tomorrow. We want to make sure our vendors have enough time to prepare, and we simply don’t feel it would be fair to ask everyone to scramble with such little notice.

But don’t worry, we’ll be back the following Saturday!

Our vendors have been incredibly patient and supportive through all of this, and we cannot thank them or our amazing community enough.

We know how much this market means to our vendors, families, and small businesses, and we are so excited to finish out the season together.

Next Saturday, we’re bringing back one of our favorite days, Kids Market! 💛

We want to remind everyone that ALL kids are welcome to participate! There is NO COST to set up a booth. Whether they want to sell crafts, artwork, homemade goodies, bracelets, toys, plants, or anything else they’ve created, we’d love to have them!

No application. No booth fee. Just bring your little entrepreneur, their goodies, and a table or setup if they have one!

❤️ WE NEED YOUR HELP FINDING A NEW HOME FOR THE MARKET! ❤️

As many of you have seen, the City of Independence has announced the closure of Riverview Park. Unfortunately, that means the Independence Riverview Saturday Market can no longer operate at our current location.

Our market has become so much more than a place to shop on Saturday mornings. It’s a place where local businesses, makers, farmers, artists, families, and neighbors come together. We have vendors who rely on their Saturday sales, and we have a community that has shown up for them week after week.

But we’re not ready to give up. ❤️

We are actively looking for a new location, and THIS is where we need our community.

Do you know of:
📍 A park, field, parking lot, or open space that could work?
🏡 Someone who owns property that might be a possibility?
🤝 A local business, organization, school, church, or community group we should reach out to?
💡 Or maybe you simply have an idea we haven’t thought of?

Important Update Regarding the Independence Riverview Saturday Market

We are sharing the City of Independence’s post regarding the closure of Riverview Park.

Unfortunately, this means the Independence Riverview Saturday Market will not be able to operate at the park during the closure. We are heartbroken by this news, especially because of the impact it has on the small businesses, makers, farmers, artists, and families who have come to rely on our market each week.

Our market currently supports 10–15 consistent weekly vendors, many of whom count on their Saturday market income to help support their families and small businesses. This closure affects far more than just a Saturday event. It affects real people, their livelihoods, and a community that has worked hard to build something special.

We are incredibly disappointed that we were not notified directly before the closure was announced, and we understand that many of you may have questions about what this means moving forward.

We are working to gather more information and determine what options may be available to us. We will share updates with our vendors and community as soon as we have them.

Thank you to everyone who has supported the Independence Riverview Saturday Market, shopped with our vendors, brought your families, listened to our musicians, and helped us create such a wonderful community gathering.

This really hurts our hearts. ❤️

Please continue to support our vendors however you can. Small businesses need our community now more than ever.

This is not a post we were hoping to make.

After spending a lot of time watching the air quality forecasts and thinking about what is best for our community, I’ve made the difficult decision to cancel this Saturday’s Independence Riverview Saturday Market.

As much as I love bringing everyone together each week, I can’t ask our vendors to spend an entire day outside or encourage our community to visit the park when the air quality may not be safe. The health of our vendors, shoppers, volunteers, musicians, and every family that comes out to support local businesses will always come before holding a market.

We’ll continue keeping a close eye on conditions and will share updates as we get closer to next Saturday. My hope is that the smoke clears quickly and we can get back to doing what we love by supporting local businesses and building this amazing community together.

Thank you all for your understanding, your kindness, and for continuing to support the Independence Riverview Saturday Market. It means more than you know.
