The cooler spring weather is doing wonders for spring crops like broccolini, Napa cabbage and snap peas! We are excited to harvest these fan favorites for our members over the coming weeks!

We love caring for our plants to increase productivity and quality. Careful pruning and trellising of these cherry tomatoes optimizes photosynthesis for sweeter sun-kissed fruits. The increase airflow also prevents diseases for healthier plants that can survive throughout the summer season.

These cherry tomato vines will produce their first fruits for CSA boxes in just a few weeks and will continue to produce until near the end of the summer season in October. By then, they'll be 30 feet long as we carefully lower them and lean them throughout the high tunnel. The high tunnel allows us to start them earlier and go a little later in the season but best of all it keeps the rain and dew off the leaves to prevent fungal diseases that would otherwise shorten the lifespan of these same plants if they were planted outside of the shelter. You won't find grow-bags or hydroponics under out tomato plants. They're grown in the soil with a shield over top of them to protect from some of the elements.

Our Independence MO farm offers several convenient pickup sites including Overland Park, Brookside, Gladstone and Lee's Summit. We also offer 3 share sizes to fit your family's need.

We use old-time beyond organic growing practices to grow food without chemical residues from herbicides, fungicides, insecticides or fertilizers. Given the tariffs and oil costs likely to drive up imported food, now is a great time to switch more of your daily inputs to hyper-local. Plus you'll get the chance to know your farmers because unlike most food, this isn't produced in a factory by a multinational conglomerate, but outside in the dirt by a family you can shake hands with.

Gardens are all fun and games until the w**ds show up!

Have you ever planted a garden with high hopes, saw a few tiny w**ds that you ignored and then turned around and found a hopelessly w**d infested garden patch?

Believe me, been there, done that! So we are ruthless with even the tiniest w**ds. So if you see beautiful pictures of the farm and wish you had such an easy w**d-free garden, just know, there was a lot of work that went into that.
