Under the current regulations, Meat imported from other countries can still be labeled with "Product of USA" provided it passes through a USDA-inspected plant. IT is then repackaged and passed off as a higher-quality product raised by U.S. farmers and ranchers.

The number above includes over 10,000 metric tons of pork products and nearly 2,500 metric tons of lamb products imported PER WEEK.
