Shapiro's Deli just landed on IndyStar 's list of the Top 10 sandwiches in Indianapolis — and honestly? We're not surprised, but we ARE proud. 🥪🏆

Our Reuben isn't just a sandwich, it's history on rye. This corned beef staple has been part of the Shapiro's story so long that it's woven into the fabric of Indianapolis itself — we even donated our 25+ year old corned beef pot to the U.S. military as scrap metal during WWII. That's dedication to the craft that runs deep.

What makes it legendary? Rose-colored, thin-sliced corned beef piled high, pressed until it looks like a shuffled deck of cards. Tangy Russian dressing. Half-melted Swiss. A pungent kick of sauerkraut. All held together by buttery toasted rye that somehow — miraculously — stays three-dimensional under all that weight.

Yes, it's a commitment (and a splurge). That's why we introduced the half-Reuben - The Rebecca - for $15.50 — for when you want the legend without going all in. But let's be honest... once you smell it, you're getting the whole thing. 😉

AMERICA'S OLDEST SINGLE-FAMILY DELI — and we've got a hundred years of Jewish tradition to prove it.

Since 1905, four generations of Shapiros have been serving up quality meals for our family and friends right here in Indianapolis. That's more than a century of relationships behind every plate — vegetables from our Italian neighbors, sugar and beans from Needham Hurst (now NKHurst Beans) since 1938, and corned beef from Sam & Emil in Chicago — better known today as Vienna Beef.
