The Color Combo That Makes It Look Like You Tried Baby blue and brown together just work. Add a scarf, beads, and a belt, and a basic sweater suddenly looks like a whole outfit instead of something you threw on five minutes ago.

We don’t have to leave the wrought iron black!! Those old black wrought iron patio sets are everywhere, and most of them are still solid as a rock.

A good cleaning, a little rust prep and a bright coat of outdoor metal paint can completely change one. Add a simple flower pattern if you are feeling brave, or keep it one bold color and let the shape do the work!

I won’t stop showing you pretty milk glass until we collectively bring it back in style. Bud vases, candleholders, tiny pitchers, odd little dishes. It is inexpensive, easy to find, and looks good with absolutely everything.

Frame the Recipes You Never Want to Lose. Those stained, handwritten recipe cards are more than instructions. They’re family history.

Slip them into a pretty thrifted frame and display them right in the kitchen. It makes a meaningful Mother’s Day gift, wedding gift, or keepsake for anyone lucky enough to still have Grandma’s recipes.

Start watching the frame aisle at thrift and antique stores. The more mismatched and vintage, the better.

The Shower Curtain Deserves a Crown! This is exactly why I look at old furniture pieces twice.

That carved piece above the shower may have started life as part of a headboard, but here it turns a plain shower curtain into the prettiest little moment in the whole bathroom.

When you’re thrifting, don’t just ask what something is. Ask what it could be.

The sweetest gift may be sitting on the shelf!

Tiny vintage vases make the sweetest baby shower or Mother’s Day gifts. Add a handwritten note telling them it’s meant for the little flowers picked by little hands, and suddenly that $3 thrift store find becomes something they’ll keep forever.

So when you spot one at the thrift or antique store, pick it up. This is exactly the kind of simple, sentimental gift people remember.
