Butcher Bert has his famous food truck fired up and is parked at Drkula’s waiting for YOU! The grill is hot, the meat is smoking, and Bert is standing by like the proud meat magician he is. 😂🔥

We’re serving brisket sandwiches, pulled pork, turkey legs, hot dogs, brats, and the highly coveted pork chop on a stick. Yes, meat on a stick. It’s portable and delicious.

Come hungry, find Bert in the Drkula’s parking lot, and get your hands on the good stuff before everyone else beats you to it!

🚨 NEWS FROM BUTCHER BERT’S HEADQUARTERS 🚨

The latest totals are in, and Team Butcher Bert is holding strong with 1,473 pounds of food! Meanwhile, over at Camp Joe Joe, Joe Atkins, County Commissioner is sitting at 772 pounds.

Now, one might think Bert has this victory wrapped up tighter than a package of bacon. But let’s not get comfortable, folks. Tomorrow, Joe Joe will be hustling through that parade like a contestant on Supermarket Sweep, grabbing donations anywhere he can find them. We need a rally inning, and we need it TODAY!

Of course, our friends at Neighbors, Inc. are the real winners. Helping local families is exactly why Bert and Joe do this every year…but watching these two buddies battle it out is half the fun.

Stop into Hometown Meats today and put 5 or more nonperishable food items in Butcher Bert’s barrel. You’ll receive a coupon for a FREE scoop of ice cream at Hometown Sweets AND be entered into a drawing to win a Thanksgiving turkey with all the sides!

What are you waiting for? Raid the pantry, hit the grocery store, fill Bert’s barrel and SECURE THE VICTORY! 🥫👑🍦🦃

Why did the chicken cross the road?

Apparently to get to Hometown Meats and find out we’re selling chicken feet. 🐔😳

That’s right, chicken feet are BACK in stock! Stop in and grab a package before they walk out the door on their own.

When we say this community showed up last night, we mean YOU SHOWED UP! Maybe it was the beautiful weather, your love for Inver Grove Heights Days, or you simply wanted to get out and enjoy some time with your community. Whatever brought you out, we’re so glad you joined us!

Butcher Bert and his crew served a little over 1,200 people🍔 🌭 That is one heck of a crowd, and a whole lot of hamburgers and hot dogs! We can’t thank you enough for making it such a wonderful evening. Seeing everyone together, laughing and having a great time, is exactly what this event is all about.

A huge thank you to our friends at the Minnesota State Patrol for bringing out the helicopter, and to the Inver Grove Heights Police Department, Inver Grove Heights Fire Department, Hometown Meats, Swanson’s Meats, Republic Services, ISD 199, IGH Days, Sheriff Joe Leko, the Moose Lodge, Simley High School Marching Band, Hometown Sweets, Inver Grove Brewing Co., Drkula’s, and every incredible volunteer who helped make the evening possible.

And last, but certainly not least, thank you to Butcher Bert’s bestie and nonperishable food raising rival, Joe Atkins. The competition may be fierce, but the friendship and the commitment to our community is even stronger.

We hope you had as much fun as we did! Now, let’s get ready for a fun filled, event packed and safe Inver Grove Heights Days!

Join us TODAY from 4–7 PM in the ISD 199 parking lot for a FREE burger 🍔 or hot dog 🌭 as we honor our local first responders, educators, military members, veterans and medical personnel. Everyone is welcome!

We’ll be giving away 10 YETI coolers, and the Minnesota State Patrol helicopter is scheduled to land between 5 and 5:30 PM, pending any emergency calls. Don’t forget to bring your nonperishable food donations and choose your side: Team Butcher Bert or Team Joe Joe! The competition may be fierce, but Neighbors, Inc. is the real winner.

Well, we have started off a little slow this year. Both Butcher Bert and Joe Atkins, County Commissioner are currently down from the totals they raised last year.

We get it. The economy is tough, and everyone is feeling it. But we also know how much these donations mean to our community. Neighbors, Inc. does a phenomenal job helping local families, and every single item makes a difference.

There is still plenty of time! Stop by Hometown Meats, drop off your nonperishable food items and pick a barrel. Of course, we are hoping you choose Team Butcher Bert, but no pressure. Okay, maybe a little pressure.

You can also bring your canned goods to the Hometown Heroes Cookout tomorrow from 4–7 PM. Every can, every box and every donation helps. Thank you all for continuing to show up for our neighbors!

Join us Wednesday, September 9, from 4–7 PM in the ISD 199 parking lot for a FREE burger 🍔 or hot dog 🌭 as we celebrate our local first responders, educators, military members, veterans and medical personnel. Bring the family, come hungry and help us show some love to the people who do so much for our community.
