Peony Stems Available NOW!

Celebrating a graduation? Looking to surprise your significant other with a few flowers? Maybe impress your favorite teacher or a coworker who goes above and beyond?

We have a variety of peony stem colors available - more than these photos even.

They are budding out now and will be available now and for the next week or so. Please send us a messages if you would like to put together an order. They are $3 per stem, any mix of colors, any order amount. We am happy to help you cut a single stem if that would make your day 😄

All stems will be hand cut at the time of pickup! We are happy to help coach you through keeping these flowers looking fresh as long as possible, too!

Our ducks are getting their own space!

We’ve hinted at it in previous posts but here is the official announcement.

Back in November or December, we applied for a grant through the state of Minnesota that would allow us to better protect our birds from avian influenza. In that process the state awarded us a small grant that will help cover a portion of the costs needed to keep them a bit safer. We’re on the hook for most of the project, but they’re helping out with some hardware cloth and sanitary related measures. Still super helpful!

Over the last week or two we’ve been setting the framework to get started on that project. We picked up a new pre built shed from a local twin cities high school wood-shop program for a steal of a deal - donating the money for materials back to their program to help more kids learn about construction. It’s a win-win for everyone!

Inside work is complete and outdoor materials are being ordered. Before we know it, the ladies will be swimming in their pond and even better protected from outside predators and diseases.

Thanks to Spring Lake Park High School Woods program and State of MN Department of Agriculture for helping kickstart this project.

Looks like the new colonies of bees are already growing and venturing further out.

Thanks you to everyone who visited this weekend! It was nice and warm - perfect planting weather. We’re now closed for the afternoon!

Let’s take a peek at the week ahead:

We’ll be closed Memorial Day, Monday 5/25. Feel free to send us a message if there is a specific plant you’d like us to leave out for you at the farmstand.

Tuesday: open 2-6pm
Wednesday: open 2-6pm
Thursday: closed
Friday: open 12-6pm
Saturday: open 9-2pm
Sunday: open 9-noon

These hours worked well for us last week - it gave us a chance to run some errands and start on our new duck coop. Do these hours work well for ya’ll?

As always, chicken and duck eggs out at the farmstand. Reserve them on our website too, if you’d like.

What does this week look like around the farm?

Monday (Closed) - rest and recharge
Tuesday (Closed) - tackle farm chores

Wednesday to Friday - open 2pm-6pm
Saturday 9am - 2pm
Sunday 9am - noon

We may have the open sign out longer, but these hours allow us to get moving with other projects as our greenhouse clears out.

Feel free to message us to set an appointment of course.

Farmstand is open 8am-dusk, daily. Self service and cash only. Duck & chicken eggs, some jam and some fresh flowers and produce coming soon enough. We’ll post updates when we add new things! Don’t forget that you can reserve your eggs online, too.

Did you know we make custom sized cedar planters?

These taller planters are a custom order for a client picking them up tomorrow! They saw our 16”x16” boxes we made over the winter and wanted something a little larger. Thank you Crystal!

Fully customizable, we charge $10 per input board. Simple, easy and straight forward pricing.

These boxes took between 3 and 5 boards - so $30 and $50 for these.

We will be closed Mon/Tue to catch up and get some major bird tasks tackled! More details to come.

We will be open the following this week:

5/13 Wednesday: 9-6
5/14 Thursday: 9-6
5/15 Friday: 9-4 (go wild)
5/16 Saturday: 9-6
5/17 Sunday: 9-4

If you don’t see us, look for the “need help?” sign. It’ll have a walkie talkie to get our attention.

As always, the farmstand is open 8am to dusk and we’re happy to make an appointment outside regular hours if you need it.

Connor was up late last night whipping up some strawberry rhubarb crisps. Available at the farmstand this morning along with our eggs and pear jam!
