🌿 Don't Forget the Raspberry Leaves! 🍓☕

Most of us grow raspberries for the sweet summer berries, but did you know the leaves have been treasured for generations as a nourishing herbal tea?

Right now is the perfect time to harvest them! Simply pick healthy leaves (leaving plenty behind for the plant to keep growing and producing berries), give them a quick rinse with water and a splash of vinegar, pat dry, and dehydrate or air dry on screens for future use.

To make tea:
🍃 2 tablespoons fresh or dried raspberry leaves
💧 1 cup hot water
⏱️ Steep for 10 minutes, strain, sweeten if desired, and enjoy!

Many people use raspberry leaf tea as a natural source of vitamins and minerals, including vitamins A, B, C, and E, along with calcium, potassium, magnesium, iron, and manganese. Traditionally, it has been enjoyed to support women's wellness, digestive health, and overall nutrition, and it can also be used topically as a soothing rinse for skin or as an unsweetened mouth rinse.

One thing to remember: because raspberry leaf may have physiological effects, it's always best to talk with your healthcare provider before using it during pregnancy, if you have a medical condition, or if you're taking medications.

I love finding ways to use more of what the garden provides, and this is one of my favorites. If you already have raspberry bushes growing, you might just have a free cup of tea waiting for you! 🌿❤️
