Jackson.. thank you thank you thank you!!

Tomorrow is our last day open for business. I can’t thank you enough for all of the years of support. My heart hurts so bad to close this chapter but I am looking forward to being with my babies.

The storefront all came together when I had lost my job a few years ago. I had already been doing charcuterie and I knew exactly what I wanted in a storefront. I knew what I could bring to this town and I was determined to do it. I waited on our building for weeks but it felt like monthssss. I wanted it so badly. I knew I wanted our Grab & Go to be the center of attention and it was. My mamas Chicken Salad was our number 1 seller to this day. But a few months in, I knew I had to do more to keep the doors open.. so we grew. We started adding Paninis and then Lunch Specials and so on. It was working until it wasn’t working.. and that’s nobody’s fault, not even mine. The economy sucks. Groceries are ridiculous. And it’s just time to move on.

Over the years, I have grown so much as a person and business owner. I learned something new every day. However, TBG would not have ran even half way smooth without my employees. I’ve heard so much lately how hard it is to find a good employee and maybe it’s because I had them all 🩵 these girls never hesitated. Between sickness, deaths, maternity leave, and breaking my ankle they took care of everything when I couldn’t.
Going to the store every morning & being with my girls is what I am going to miss the most. We are best friends, we know everything about each other and I am going to miss seeing them every day so stinking much.

Cooking has always been my love language and I never thought it would lead to TBG. But lord I’m so thankful it did. Im so thankful it led to me each of you.

With the closing of one of my favorite small businesses I just want to say THANK YOU to all of our customers!! I know times are hard for us all and Bounce Houses and Waterslides aren’t a necessity

Supporting small is more than spending money! I promise we see and appreciate ever like, share, and comment! Some days our small businesses get more time than our family's! And walking away from one is hard!

This past week I have watched one of my best friends walk away from something I've seen her build from the ground up, and it's heartbreaking! Keep your money in our community and shop small, I know it's said a million times but you truly don't understand it until you see what all goes on behind the scenes.

Whew… this is a post I never thought I would have to make. But when God speaks, you listen.

It is with the heaviest heart that I inform you that The Board Goat will be closing its doors on, Wednesday July 31st.

This decision did not come easy. It stinks, burns and it’s pure gut wrenching. I have exhausted every option to keep the doors open but unfortunately in this economy I have failed to do so.

TBG has been one of the best things that has ever happened to be me. I could not be more thankful for each of you who turned my dreams into a reality. Closing this chapter of my life is not easy by any means. I have told myself multiple times that this is just a building and the memories all come with me.
However, I can’t express how much I will miss delivering lunches to mills, my children running around like animals, making pounds and pounds of chicken salad, & planning out menus.

But mostly, I will miss coming in everyday to my girls. They were the back bone of TBG. If you came by, you saw them. Not me. I was always delivering.. I promise. We have made friendships for a lifetime, brought babies into this world and the best of memories. I can’t thank them enough. My heart breaks so much for them.

To my customers, thank you SO SO much for all your support over the years. We would not have made it this long with you.

Please please please, support small & local businesses. We are drowning.

We will be open till Wednesday. However, Monday - Wednesday we will not have a lunch special. Only Chicken Salad & Sandwiches. All gift cards are valid until Wednesday.

We will be posting a lot for sale & have a huge sale in store! Please stay tuned.
