Our Story - Going Local
Growing up in Vermont, local food was a part of our daily life. We had farms close by and a large garden in our backyard. Quite frankly, I took for granted how accessible local, fresh food was for our family. New to Jacksonville in 2010, I searched for local produce but, my goodness, it was hard to come by! The drive to better my health and the complete disbelief of what was then being served at farmers’ markets turned into a passion for bridging the gap in our food supply and supporting our local farms.
Working by my side is my partner, Becky Pittard and her husband, Jan, of Ormond Beach. Together, our mission is make it easy for residents to eat good, clean, local food while providing fair compensation to our farmers and artisans who work tirelessly through the intense heat, bitter freezes, and let's not forget torrential rains, to put food on our tables. Their dedication is nothing short of amazing.
