When you come for eggs, leave with eggs and our some delicious, caramely, maple syrup from the Palmer Creek sugar shack!

Our entire house smelled like caramel corn when we were finishing it off.

A little later in the season- you’ll see another yummy product from our sugar shack. I can’t say anymore. But you’ll have to swing by and see what the buzz is about.

The pale yellow yolk is from one of the best pasture raised and costliest store bought brands. The dark yellow is from our happy free ranging, spoiled girls

If they look this much better, imagine how much better they taste.

Here’s a go fund me for Will’s Handsome Silky Goats and Such.

Please consider donating and/or sharing. I rarely Share go fund me. But i do often contribute, even to perfect strangers. Now i’m asking you to do the same because i know how much these goats were loved.

This a very conservative number to get them back on solid footing. He lost his livelihood, his animals, and some vehicles. Not to mention sustaining burns himself while saving the ones he could.

Anyone else grow up with Appalachian grandmas that made salt-rising bread?

It’s a fermented starter made with either corn meal and milk, or potatoes/ water.
My grandmas recipe calls for potatoes.

It’s a very fickle starter. It has to be kept at around 100° to make the magic. When it starts to smell like real ripe cheese… like ripe… you know it’s working.

It’s a dense, sorta sweet, and most delicious bread. That’s best toasted and slathered with butter.

Did I mention it’s very fickle?

Who else has enjoyed this Appalachian delicacy?

Y’all!! Do NOT sleep on Sweet Potato Gifts and Goods for your gifting needs this season. It’s super cute, and there’s something for everyone. Mama and i stopped by a couple weeks ago and we LOVED it!
