If you like salsa, you're going to want to find Papa Pelotas at this month's market.

Derek and Mia started Papa Pelotas earlier this year after spending some time in the kitchen working on a smoked salsa recipe. After a few months and plenty of taste-testing later, they landed on the recipe they loved—and apparently, so did everyone else!

Their specialty is their smoked salsa, with three varieties currently in the lineup: OG, Mild, and Hot. And if you've got a favorite, you may want to grab a jar while you can because they're already working on some new flavors for the future.

We're always excited to introduce you to a new local business, and Papa Pelotas is one we're especially excited for you to try.

Remember the pineapple guy from KooL RingZ?

We introduced him to you last month for his very first vendor event, and you all gave this new entrepreneur such an incredible welcome that we're excited to have him back!

Hayden is a University of Nebraska at Kearney student studying Exercise Science and Nutrition while playing football, and KooL RingZ was born after he found himself looking for something to give him a little extra energy after practice.

His answer? Pineapple rings infused with sugar-free hydration and energy flavors—with more than 30 flavors to choose from!

We loved getting to know Hayden and hearing about the heart behind what he's building. He's working hard to balance school, football, and his business while building connections in the community he's called home for the past year.

If you haven't tried KooL RingZ yet, make this the month you do. Grab a ring, find your favorite flavor, and show Hayden some love!

We're excited to welcome Christi to the Third Thursday Night Market!

Christi is bringing a little bit of everything she loves to her business—crocheting and baking. What started during COVID when she taught herself to crochet through YouTube has grown from making blankets and stuffies for friends and family into a full-blown creative side business.

Then she added baking to the mix.

Inspired by the jumbo gourmet cookies she kept seeing online, Christi started experimenting with her own over-the-top creations. Her cookies are BIG—usually 3.5 to 5 ounces—and packed with fun toppings, fillings, and flavors. Basically, they're the kind of cookies that don't believe in being subtle.

Come say hi to Christi, grab a ridiculously good cookie, and check out what she's been crocheting up, too.

We're excited to have Erin of Companion Creek Designs joining us for our August Third Thursday Night Market!

Erin started Companion Creek Designs after moving back to Kearney last year—a place she calls her roots, having been born here before moving to Colorado as a child.

Companion Creek Designs is inspired by Erin's love of animals, the outdoors, and the western lifestyle. She specializes in laser-cut designs, creating handcrafted wooden pieces that range from detailed home décor and wall art to meaningful, personalized accents. Each piece is carefully cut and finished with a blend of Colorado nostalgia, a whole lot of heart, and an appreciation for the stories behind the things we bring into our homes and lives.

We love getting to know the stories behind the makers at our market, and Erin's is such a special one. Stop by, meet her, and take a little piece of Companion Creek Designs home with you.

Did you meet the Biz Kidz at our July Night Market?

They were a last-minute addition to our lineup last month, and we're excited to have them back for August! This time, we're giving them a proper spotlight because these young entrepreneurs deserve to be recognized.

The Kearney Area Children's Museum Biz Kidz participated in the KACM Biz Kidz Camp this summer, where they learned about entrepreneurship and developed their own unique products and services. Now they're putting those skills into practice by bringing their businesses to the Night Market.

We love seeing young people dream up something of their own—and even more, we love giving them a place to share it with our community.

Stop by their booth to meet the kids, hear about what they've created, and support them as they take their first steps into entrepreneurship.

If you like your food with a little kick, you're going to want to check out Gomer’s Sweet Heat Hot Sauce!

What began as a homemade experiment with habaneros has grown into a business that's now making its way to markets and craft shows around the area. Chad started making his own hot sauce after getting frustrated with the options at the store, and after plenty of encouragement from family and friends, he decided to turn his hobby into something more.

With multiple flavors to choose from and more on the way, this is your chance to taste what Gomer's Sweet Heat Hot Sauce has been cooking up. Diego picked up two of their hot sauces and really loves how the sweet accentuates the heat. It's safe to say, this hot sauce has become a staple in our home. Grab a bottle for yourself, pick one up for the hot sauce lover in your life, and let us know which flavor is your favorite!

We're excited to welcome Author Riley Perrie back to our August Third Thursday Night Market!

Riley is a YA/NA Christian fantasy author who has been writing since she was just seven years old. Her love of storytelling has stayed with her ever since, and today she’s the author several different novels.

Her first book, Partin: The Chosen, kicks off a fantasy biblical allegory series, while Inspector Pim and the Blood of Inferium begins a steampunk murder mystery series. So whether you're drawn to fantasy, faith-filled storytelling, or a good mystery, Riley has something for you.
