This week, I'd like to feature returning farmer vendor, Jack Pappan of Pappan's Fresh Vegetables.

Jack had a wide selection of produce last year, and for this year he plans to bring: new potatoes, onions, okra, eggplant, tomatoes, summer squash, zucchini, spaghetti and butternut winter squash. Also, both sweet and hot peppers as well as cantaloupe and watermelon!

Jack comes to our market from Augusta, and always has a nice selection of produce. I enjoyed his suggestion of several things, (specifically peppers) to add to my meal preparation. He is very knowledgeable and helpful in the sales of his fresh produce!

Jack's first Kechi attendance will be June 11th. Welcome back, sir!

Let me introduce our new 2026 Kechi Market Manager, Sandy Allen!! We've been market friends for three decades, and this lady has two green thumbs AND ten "green toes"! If you attended any 2025 markets at Kechi (or Bentley, Colwich, and Halstead!) you may have noticed this barefoot lady! She gardens intensely, and I got a personal tour of her small farm today. I feel LAZY when I see all she's got going on!! Fresh Eggs, Seasonal produce, breads/rolls, plants, and a few crafty things too....but my favorite thing: ONIONS. We consume pounds of Sandy's onions each year! She grows 7 different kinds, and all the colors!! In my opinion, she is the "Onion Queen" of central Kansas!
I hope you'll enjoy "meeting" Sandy and some of our other vendors as we highlight them here as we get ready for Opening Day on June 4th! ♥️🌱😁

Opening Day is June 4th! The Ladybugs are working hard and looking healthy.
We have 9 returning vendors already and have approved 3 new vendors to date. And we will be introducing our 2026 Market Manager very soon! In fact, we are planning on introducing some vendors each week leading up to opening day!
From returning favorites to new vendors, we will have a nice mix of seasonal produce, baked good, flowers, plants and crafts.

Hello, Kechi Farmer's Market vendors and customers! Kechi Market opening on June 4th is only about 6 weeks away! We hope everyone is looking forward to participating and shopping with us again this year!
