Beginning today, our guests will see moderate price increases on our menu, the first such increases since we opened in July 2023. While we seek to provide excellent food, drink, and hospitality to our guests, we also seek to be a profitable and thriving business that can continually sustain those of us who work here.

While many engaged independent businesses will be closing Friday 1/30 to participate in the general strike organized in the Portland area, we will remain open. We are in solidarity with the aims of the strike and look forward to future organizing that will grow the power of withholding labor to achieve political goals. Such powerful actions shine brightly in contrast to the power of violence weaponized against Americans by Trump, Noem, Miller, ICE, and all the frozen water supporters.

We will sit this one out and remain open as a place to speak openly and freely about the tyranny we are facing and to recognize the power of organizing to shine a light on the evils of violence and hatred. Tomorrow, 10% of our sales will be donated to to contribute to their critical work.

Thank you to everyone that bought Thanksgiving meals and pies, we love being able to be a part of your holiday. Back in San Francisco, Nate worked closely with numerous small olive growers and olive oil producers to help expand knowledge and appreciation of olive oil.

It is now olive harvest season in the northern hemisphere and we are super excited to bring beautiful, freshly milled olive oil to Maine in partnership with our good friends at Seka Hills in the Capay Valley of Northern California. This oil is bright and grassy, with a vibrant green color. The health benefits of olive oil are also at their peak in these freshly milled oils

Olio nuovo, new oil, is the same olive oil that we enjoy year round, but it is rushed from the mill to the end user so that it can be enjoyed in the first several months after harvest. Enjoy it early and often!

Our olio nuovo bottles will be available while our small supply lasts and at the very nice price of $12. Stop in to pick up a bottle or four to enjoy at Thanksgiving and beyond.
