Here’s your weekly reminder to stop by this Saturday to get all your freshest and most delicious items for your weekly meal plans or even to chat & have some lunch right here at the market.

We will have our weekly raffle, live music and are collecting books for Book Fairy Pantry Project. So if you have a book or two sitting on your child’s shelf collecting dust or being unread please consider bringing it to the market to benefit another child.

VENDOR HIGHLIGHT: Sarandipity Soap Co

🫧 I started in 2015 when I wanted to learn to make soap because it seemed fun, I was right and didn’t want to stop, soon I was making more than I could use or give away, so I started selling at local farmers markets.

🫧All my products are made Eco friendly, clean, green and all natural made frequently in small batches by hand.

🫧 My favorite product is my lotion, it took 2 years to develop and absorbs fast without leaving waxy residue. I love the creativity that I can have making my soaps and figuring out the different designs.

🫧 I’ve just brought my bug spray and bite balm back for the summer season. I think it smells awesome, the bugs disagree!!

🫧 The most unique product are the products designed to protect the hair and skin from frequent water exposure. I’m a swimmer and scuba diver and am in the water often. I developed a skin recovery balm, leave in conditioner and sun butter to help protect and recover the skin and hair. All with reef conciliar ingredients. 

🫧The most satisfying thing is creating something new that works better than commercial products and only uses clean and green natural ingredients. Skincare and home care that’s actually safe to use.

🫧 My business has been through several developments and growth since 2015 but I keep coming back to farmers markets. I love the ability to create and make products that really work, around my family’s scheduling needs and being able to come back to markets year after year seeing familiar faces and seeing customers coming back for products that I love is really rewarding. 

🫧Many years ago I watched the movie Serendipity. My sister and I decided one day we would start a business and call it Sarandipity, when I knew I was going to start selling my soap I knew I wanted to name it Sarandipity. My sister wasn’t able to start it with me as she still lives in the UK, but she owns her own branch of Sarandipity there!

Our market still has Senior FarmShares available! We’d LOVE for you to get one this season. All you have to do is come to our Info Booth during market hours, fill out a short form, and you’ll get $50 in vouchers to spend on any fruits, vegetables, cut herbs, and honey at our farmers’ market. Eligibility is based on age and income, not assets, so most retired folks in Maine qualify. To participate, you must:
Be a Maine resident
Be 60 years old or older (55 years old or older for Native Americans)
Meet the 2026 Income Guidelines:
1 person household: $29,526
2 person household: $40,034
3 person household: $50,542
4 person household: $61,050
5 person household: $71,558
6 person household: $82,066
Each eligible person in a household that meets these guidelines can get their own $50 share. Help us spread the word about this great program, and tell your family, neighbors, and friends! We want everyone to be able to enjoy the great summer produce our farmers grow.
