AHHHHHH...It's been C R A Z Y! There's never enough time in the week and I'm never sure what I'll have left for Kenosha Harbor Market! Finally, here's the scoop!

Chips made at Rustic Road Brewing Company can be reserved from the time I list the flavors (typically on Sunday) through Friday evening - and this week there's about HALF of what's usually made heading for the Plaza. That's awesome! Or not...because like most things, it depends on your point of view. I will have a few bags of Lightly Salted CORN Chips as well as the "regular" Habanero Parm, Campfire, Garlic'n Butter, White Cheddar, Cherry Crusted and Ranch Chips.

Yaeger's Farm Market Amish goods require hours of driving and sometimes, like this week, I'm out of several salsa choices as well as some of the pickled items. Why? well, not to complain, but there was Labor Day, extended family in from Argentina and Tennessee, and voila! Another week and it's time to go to the Market. I do have got most of the best sellers on hand - just not all. No Tiny Beets. Yes...I will see the Yaegers this coming week.

However...this coming week I won't have time to make more chips, get Amish goods and head to dairies for cheese! C R A Z Y!!

So, tomorrow I do have Decatur Dairy's Golden Swiss, Stettler Swiss, Butterkase, Ukrainian, Sharp Cheddar (oops, it just sold out as I'm posting as have the Curds), Black Pepper Parm, various spread cheese AND BUTTERS - unsalted, Cinnamon, Bacon and Herb from PRD.

Shipping cheese/butter this time of year isn't easy (if at all) and so the Salted Butter, Mozzarella Whips, Strawberry Cheddar, Apple Cheddar, Blue Cheese Cheddar etc etc from Pine River Dairy just have to wait.

On the table will be Silver Creek Specialty Meats Summer Sausage Logs and Bundles of Jim's Blue Ribbon and a selection of wild rice blends from Rice River Farms.

Hopefully you know you get discounts and freebies when you bring your WD Tote Bag and you save even more when you pre-order!

What's better than laboring on Labor Day weekend? I'm clueless!

So here's a heads-up on which chips we'll be making this week at Rustic Road Brewing Company:

For sweet there's Cherry Crusted. For Garlic there's Garlic'n Butter. What's spicy? Habanero Parm. Savory? Just Dill with It. "Normal"? (do we really ever do "normal"...) Ranch.

And just so no one gets bored with our chips, there's a new one - Campfire! What's it like? Think about grilling over an open flame and add a dash of Dijon!

Watch for cheese and salsa updates later in the week!

This is a working weekend for sure! Labor Day is all about celebrating workers but you're not going to work 24/7, right?

So come on down to the lakefront and you'll find not only Kenosha Harbor Market on 2nd Ave and us on the Plaza de Douai (201 56th St) but also Cheese-a-Palooza on Harbor Walk and the Annual Classic Cruise-In! Check out the map!

Our chips this Saturday include Bloody Marys, Chicago Steakhouse, Twisted Cinnamon, Citrussy Garlic, Jalapeno Nacho and KettleKorn!

Decatur Dairy cheeses are Mixed Curds, Butterkase, Basil Farmer, various Swiss (Stettler, Golden and Colby), Ukrainian (aged Havarti) and a super old Sharp Cheddar (16 to 20 yrs old)!

Butter and spread cheese will be on hand depending on the temps!

Silver Creek Specialty Meats Jim's Blue Ribbon Snack Rods will also be available as will various salsa from Yaeger's Farm Market.

I have looked into my crystal ball and have a prediction for this Saturday, August 22nd...it will not snow. Here. And we WILL bring chips, cheese, spreads, salsa, beets, garlic, pickles, wild rice blends and summer sausage to Kenosha Harbor Market where we will set up our tent on the Plaza de Douai (201 56th St) and hope you'll find us!

Chips made at Rustic Road Brewing Company are: Bier, Triple Treate (bbq), CherryBerryLime, Cheddar'n Bacon, Bourbon Peppercorn, HOT Garlic, Cinnamon Tea, Sour Cream & Onion and Cheesiest Garlic. How many? Pretty much can guarantee it's not "enough". But then, what IS enough? My crystal ball wasn't clear on that!

The Amish salsa from Yaeger's Farm Market will be: Black Bean & Corn, Cherry, Corn, Garden (both hot and not), Habanero, Peach and Mango. Of this I am certain!

For sure there's Jim's Blue Ribbon Sausage from Silver Creek Specialty Meats as well as wild rice blends from Rice River Farms!

AND blocks of Basil Farmer, Ukrainian, Swiss Stettler and Butterkase cheese from Decatur Dairy as well as spread cheese from Pine River Dairy.

As always, you too are welcome to reserve, pick up at my house or whatever it takes to satisfy your cravings!!

Alrighty. This week we have chips. No flat tires or power outages and all we have to do is deal with the weather.

Wrong. We will NOT be at Kenosha Harbor Market on Saturday 8/15. Our intent is to be there next Saturday 8/22.

Do you enjoy baking? Then you'll understand - rainy weather brings high humidity, which causes dry ingredients like flour and sugar to absorb moisture from the air. We all know this extra dampness ruins delicate, crisp, or sugar-heavy items like meringues, macarons, sponge cakes, and candies, turning them sticky, chewy, or flat instead of light and crisp.

Our chips are typically light, crispy and melt in your mouth - that's what you've come to expect from us.

After last week's misadventures, production continues to be challenged. Is it better to skip another week's market with no chips or risk that you'll be getting a new/different/unique version?

We're taking the risk...and having an "ugly chips" SALE!
