So this don't look good .. I believe they are robbing out my nuc's and resource hives. I have closed them up the best I could. Tape, screens grass. Anything I could find. I put out 20 gallons of feed for them. Hoping they will go for the easy feed. Leave my nuc's alone.
If they kill my nucs and resource hives. We are looking at a loss of 13 nucs and maybe 6 or 8 resource hives . Hope tomorrow will be better. But I doubt it ...

Hi friends and fellow beekeepers. Yesterday was a farmers market. It was the first one of three for this year ,for Sarah. Hosted at her business. The barn at Crawley Falls, Brentwood NH. It was a great show. I was so happy to support her plans. And of course sell some honey. We also meet some really nice vendors.

Hi friends and fellow beekeepers. Spent the day pulling a few honey supers and putting on mite treatment. I have never done it this early. I pulled 8 supers today. And that seems like alot of work. But the truth is I treated 21 hives. Yes I could have pulled more but not quite ready yet. We will give it a few more weeks. I have one more out yard I need to break down and check out the hives. The land owner had family in and the hives are in the back yard. Told him I would come back in a few weeks.
I have my whole home yard to do. Not all are honey hives. And some of the honey hives will not produce. But that is ok. I like growing and selling bees.
They say you need to decide make honey or grow bees.
Now to get the bees through winter and grow more bees for next year.
Plan for next year. Home yard grows bees for sale. Out yards make honey. We will see.

Hi friends and fellow beekeepers. This is the 4 swarm catch this year. Filth is in a box I saw it today. I moved the box to its new home a few days ago. Let them re-orientate to the new location . Today I put them in 10 frame hive .. I am feeding three hives in this year. This is not ever a good choice. But I find swarms do better with feed on them. I need to build them up to over winter. Not make honey. Wish them luck. Time is not on their side. But I have a plan. To get them through.

Hi friends and fellow beekeepers ! I have been keeping an eye on my swarm traps. The comb under the first trap I did not see them. The second box yup they are there. Removed from tree the other night and moved to my yard. I put all my swarms in. I will move them to a regular hive on our next good day with out Rain. I can't wait to see if they are large or small. You never know.

Hi friends and fellow beekeepers ! So late Sunday evening after the rain had gone through. I thought I would move two hives on to a four way pallet. My first thoughts on migratory beekeeping. I am loaning four hives to a friend and fellow beekeeper David Silvia . While moving them around and changing the hive configuration.. yup I got them upset. Got me right on the hand. Oh well it should be ok my morning.

Hi friends and fellow beekeepers. I am trying it again. I would say they swarmed and the queen is gone. Scott did not find the queen and found lots of queen cells. So I put them in two frame queen mating boxes. I know it seems like a southern thing. But we must keep trying until I get it right. I also have a three frame mating nuc by Lyson. I can't wait to give that a try. I feel better about the three frame over the two frame. Learning curve. I built them a few years ago.
