Murphy's Food King We are a full-service grocery store located in Kentland. We look forward to serving you! He re-named the store Murphy’s Food King.

In 1944 Charles and Dorothea Murphy opened Murphy’s IGA Super Store on Graham Street in Kentland. The couple ran the store up until June 10, 1947 when a fire destroyed the building. In late September Murphy’s relocated in the former Nash dealer building on Graham street and named the store Murphy’s Super Market. Sometime in 1960 Charles and Dorothea retired from the business and handed the respons

ibility to their son David Murphy. Dave made the decision to move the super market to the empty Ford dealership on Dunlap street where it currently sits today. Today Murphy’s Food King is in it’s third generation of family service. When David passed away in 2006 the business was taken over by his daughter Colleen Clifton and Murphy’s Food King is currently operated by Charles and Dorothea’s grandchildren, Colleen Clifton and Shannon Hutsell.

AN IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT:

Round Two of Pinwheels are now ready for You to enjoy! Just made in the Meat Department and ready for pickup!

Those that love them, those that want to try them, new fans from last week, (and those that juuuust missed out on the first round) here's another chance to grab a Summer Favorite.

They're in the case now, but they go fast and when they're gone, they're gone for the week. Hurry in and grab Dinner for tonight (or tomorrow)!

This year is the semiquincentennial... that's a mouthful to say and a pain to type- IT'S AMERICA'S 250TH BIRTHDAY THIS YEAR!

We hope that everyone is excited for the celebrations this year, especially around July 4! We here at Murphy's sure are excited about it, and we'd like to share that excitement with you! Keep your eyes open for an upcoming giveaway to help you celebrate 250 Years of America!

AN IMPORTANT UPDATE:

To quote an 80s 7UP Commercial "Never had it. Never will!", at least this week. As of 11:55AM We are sold out of Pinwheels for the week. We'll see you again next Friday Afternoon!

To those who were curious what they're made with: Everything that is delicious: Beef, bacon, cheese, seasonings, and several steps for assembly. You'll notice by the excitement of those familiar with them and how fast they sold, that they are something worth your time to try.

We hope those that managed to snag the first run enjoy(ed) them
and we hope to keep you happy all summer, for anyone that missed them, there will be more opportunities soon!

AS OF 11:30AM SATURDAY MORNING- 3 PACKAGES REMAINING FOR THIS WEEK

They're back for The Season! Hurry in and grab some Pinwheels for dinner!

As We all know, these delicious treats are available for the Grilling Season (and even then not in huge quantities each week), and once sold out around Labor Day, they are only remembered fondly until they come back again around Memorial Day.

Fans rejoice, they are in the case (but who knows for how long), hurry in and grab a Summer Favorite before they are gone for the week!
