2 twisted, easy, and delicious blackberry treats! What's the difference in phyllo and puff pastry??

Both can be found in the freezer section of most grocery stores and are great for baking. They make the most wonderful serving vessels for many fillings. Phillo is tissue-thin sheets of dough that have very little fat and when it bakes up, the layers get airy, crisp, and flaky. Puff pastry has chilled fat, usually butter, has been folded multiple times into the dough. There are many alternating layers of butter and dough so when it is made and baked properly, it puffs up into lots of very flaky, airy layers.

Miss Ashley's Twist on Blackberry Pineapple Dump Cake:

1/8 cup sugar
1 Tbsp Almond Flavoring
3 cups Blackberries (Frozen Or Fresh) hopefully from Miss Ashley’s Berry Patch
1 can pineapple tidbits
1 box yellow cake mix
1 stick of butter

Preparation Instructions:

Preset oven for 350 degrees. Rinse the blackberries; while wet put them in a zip top bag with 1 tbsp of the almond flavoring. Close the bag and gently shake to spread the almond over the berries. Open the bag and add 1/8 cup of the sugar, close bag and shake again. Let the berries macerate in the bag for a few minutes. Then pour the can of pineapple into the bag with the berries, close and gently mix the ingredients. Pour the fruit mixture into a 9X12 baker. Evenly top with the dry cake mix. Cut butter into slices and evenly distribute over cake mix. Bake 45-50 minutes or until top is lightly browned. Serve warm or at room temperature.
