Nourish Kids. Nourish Moves. SNAP. Double Up Food Bucks. Compost drop-off. There are lots of ways to make the most of your market visit, whether you're here to stretch your grocery budget, pick up some produce, or keep your food scraps out of the landfill.

And yes, using these programs is also a pretty great way to support the farmers who grow the food we bring home. 💚

Planning to visit the Market Square Farmers Market this Saturday, August 15? Read this first!

This Saturday, the Market Square Farmers Market will coincide with the East Tennessee History Fair, which means there will be a lot happening around downtown Knoxville and some road closures to be aware of. We've put together a map showing the event areas and roads that will be closed or have limited access so you can plan your visit before you arrive.

📍Market Square, Union Avenue, & Market Street
⏰️ 9 AM–1 PM

East Tennessee History Fair
📍East Tennessee History Center, Tennessee Theatre, & surrounding streets
⏰️ 9 AM–4 PM

🚧 Road closures:
Please take a look at the map before heading downtown and allow a little extra time to navigate the area. Some roads around Market Square and the surrounding downtown blocks will not be accessible during the events.

The market is still happening as usual, and we can't wait to see you! Whether you're coming to shop for the week, check out the History Fair, or make a whole day of exploring downtown, there's plenty to enjoy. 💚

The Market Square Farmers Market is back this Saturday from 9 AM–1 PM, and it's going to be a busy one! We'll be sharing downtown with the East Tennessee History Fair, hosted by our neighbors at the East Tennessee Historical Society (), so there will be plenty to see and do throughout the day!

Start your morning at the market with fresh local produce, baked goods, meats, eggs, flowers, artisan goods, and more from your favorite farmers and vendors, then stick around downtown and check out the History Fair and everything else Knoxville has to offer. 💚

Ever wonder what goes on behind the scenes of our producer-only farmers markets? 🌱🚜

Farm visits are one of the ways we uphold our producer-only standards, but they're also one of our favorite parts of the job. They give us the chance to visit farms, see where your food is grown, learn more about each vendor's operation, and most importantly, get to know the people behind the products we see at the market every week. Sometimes we even get to meet a farm dog or two!

In this reel, Mizuki gives you a little peek into what farm visits look like and why they're an important part of running our producer-only markets.

There's a lot that happens behind the scenes to make the farmers market happen, and this is one of the ways we get to know the people who make it all possible.
