We are a family owned business and George Luebbering is a 6th generation Osage County MO farmer. Our meat is vacuum packed for freshness and will freeze well.
At Luebbering Shorthorn Farms, we are a sixth-generation family farm led by George Luebbering, who brings years of experience and a deep commitment to the nutrition of our Shorthorn cattle. Our steers are raised on grass and finished on the corn, corn silage and hay raised on our farm by George. All our meat is processed at state and USDA inspected processing plants. You may also purchase whole, h
alf and quarter beefs cut to your directions - hogs may be purchased by the half or whole. Delivery is based on processing date. Check out our new on-line store thru barn to door by hitting shop now and our website at Midmobeef.com.

Need help figuring out how much beef your family needs?
We get this question all the time, so we created some simple charts to help.
They break down:
• How much beef families typically use
• What size share works best
• How much freezer space you’ll need
If you’re thinking about buying a quarter, half, or whole beef, these charts make it much easier to decide.
Spring is around the corner.
Grilling season.
Steaks on the grill.
Burgers on warm evenings.
If your freezer is starting to look a little light, now is a good time to plan ahead.
We have about 20 steers heading to harvest this spring, which means quarter, half, and whole beef shares becoming available.

Missed George at the farmers market last weekend? Don’t worry — you’ve got another chance this Saturday!
If you’re planning to be in the Columbia area, stop by and pick up a few things from the truck.
You can also ask George about reserving a quarter, half, or whole share of beef. We’ve got several shares coming available again with steers heading to harvest this spring.

George will be at the Columbia Farmers Market this Saturday, March 7!
If you’re in the area, stop by and say hello. Grab your beef for the week or ask George about reserving a share — we have several steers getting ready for harvest.
If your freezer is looking a little light after winter, now’s a great time to plan ahead before grilling season sneaks up on us.

FFA Week!! 💙💛
To wrap up FFA Week, Brielle borrowed one of Papa George’s tractors and drove it into school alongside others in her FFA chapter — which is pretty cool if you ask me.
She also brought her show steer for the petting zoo, and apparently he was a big hit with the little ones.
You can really see all the time and effort she’s put into working with him. The way he stood calm with all that attention says a lot about the hours she’s spent in the barn.
Proud of the work she’s doing and the responsibility she’s learning along the way. 💛🐄

But here’s the question…
did you check your freezer?
If you’re running a little low on beef, now’s the time to plan ahead.
We’re taking deposits on beef shares for March and April delivery, so you can lock in quality beef before spring gets busy.
Just like stocking up before a snowstorm, planning your freezer now means fewer grocery runs and more peace of mind later.
When the snow melts, you’ll already know you’ve got beef on the way. 🐄❄️➡️🌱
👉 Visit our website LuebberingShorthornFarm.com to place a deposit and reserve your share.

With temperatures dropping into the single digits and below zero this weekend, it’s a good time to take inventory of your freezer.
While everyone’s grabbing bread and milk, check to see how your beef supply is looking too. Cold stretches like this are when having meals already planned makes a big difference.
If you’re running low or planning ahead, we do have quarter, half, and whole beef shares available through our Spring delivery and are taking deposits now.
Due to the weather moving in, we will not be attending the Columbia Farmers Market this Saturday, January 24.
If you’re planning ahead for the cold weather and need beef before temperatures drop, feel free to reach out to us directly. We’re happy to help get you stocked up.
You can also place orders anytime through our website, and we’re still taking orders for quarter, half, and whole beef shares for our Spring Harvest.
Stay warm and safe out there — winter isn’t messing around this week.
Due to the forecasted winter weather and freezing temperatures, we’ve decided the safest decision for our vendors and customers is to cancel the January 24th market. We hope to see you next Saturday, January 31st! Stay safe and warm, everyone!

Did you know cows have babysitters? 🐄👶
When the mama cows head to the barn to eat, one cow usually hangs back to keep an eye on the baby calves — because even in a herd, someone’s always on babysitting duty.
The calves get their zoomies, the moms get a meal, and everyone’s taken care of.
Looks like Lucas understood the assignment too. 🤍
Just another reminder that on the farm… raising babies is a team effort.

When we decided to get into the beef business, we knew we had to have a premier product, and make that available to everyone in central MO. We Started with our farmer, George and Shirley Luebbering. With generations of farming experience under their belt and an emphasis on raising cattle, we knew this would be a partnership that would yield great results!
Next was our livestock, Show-Me Farms was a fantastic start with their Shorthorn Cattle and Berkshire Pork. After the purchase of their remaining livestock and a little trial and error, the Luebbering Shorthorn Farm grew into a brand! With addition of our marketing team and local outreach we are proud to provide local grocery and restaurants with the total farm to table meat experience! We strive to be a sustainable farm, on the forefront of responsible, environmentally aware farming. Our herd is antibiotic and hormone free, grass and corn fed, all grown right here on the same farm.
Keep an eye out for the Luebbering Shorthorn Farm logo at your local establishments!
A huge thank you from the Luebbering Shorthorn Team!
