WHEWWWW… SOMEBODY HIDE MY TO-DO LIST!! 🤣🤣
It’s FINALLY time to sit down and RELAX… or at least pretend to, because apparently Halfmoon Family Homestead doesn’t believe in days off! 😂🐔🐷
Let’s see what kind of chaos we’ve been up to lately…
🎒 The grandkids went back to school — Grandma survived summer! 😂
🎂 Our sweet Tracelyn celebrated her 1st birthday!! Where did that year go?! ❤️
🐔 We got the Spitzhauben chickens’ pen DONE and hopefully they’ll be moving into their fancy new digs tomorrow!
🥒 We harvested A LOTTTT of cukes… because apparently the garden looked at my empty canning jars and said, “Oh, you thought you were done?!” 🤣 Looks like we’ll be canning AGAIN this week!
🥛 ANDDDD… we made our own HOMEMADE YOGURT!! 🙌 Another thing we can officially say, “Yep, we make that ourselves now!” 😂
And because all of THAT clearly wasn’t enough…
🐷 WE ORDERED OUR FIRST BUTCHER SET!!
Next weekend we’re butchering pigs for the first time! 😳🐷 We’ve got our brine figured out, curing salt is on order, and we stocked up on vacuum-sealer bags.
At this point, I’m pretty sure our hobbies are just creating more work for ourselves and getting excited about it! 🤣🤣
But seriously… ❤️
We’re learning.
We’re growing.
We’re preserving our harvest.
We’re raising our own food.
We’re trying new things.
And we’re building the homestead life we dreamed about one crazy project at a time. 🌻🐔🐷🥒
There is NEVER a dull moment at Halfmoon Family Homestead!
Now excuse me while I put my feet up…
