Queen bee doing what she does best. The blue dot was placed on her by me so I can easily spot her in the hive. This is one of the busiest times of the year for the colony, and if all goes well, we should have some fresh honey ready soon!

Hello, it’s David here, owner of Florida Pestworx.

Most people know me as your local bug guy here in Lakeland. But what many don’t realize is that I’m also a backyard beekeeper with my boys through My2Sons Bee & Honey Co.

That perspective changes everything for me.

When you’ve stood there with your son holding a frame full of bees, watching them work, tasting honey straight from the comb… you start to understand just how important it is to do things the right way.

Pest control isn’t about wiping everything out. It’s about balance. It’s about protecting your home and your family while being intentional with how we treat the environment around it.

Every product we use, every treatment we perform, every decision we make on your property carries weight. And that’s something I take very seriously.

Because the same environment we’re treating is the one supporting pollinators like these. And without them, none of this works.

So today’s a good reminder. You can protect your home and still respect the world around you. That’s the standard we hold ourselves to every single day.

We have a special visitor at the apiary this week. My buddy Joseph Crayton made the trip down from Clarksburg, WV, and it didn’t take long for the bees at My2Sons to welcome him in. Got him right into the hive and let him try honey straight off the comb for the first time. Doesn’t get much better than that.

Hey everyone, this is Lauren, David, Grayson and Tanner from My2Sons Bee & Honey Co 🐝

We just wanted to take a moment to say how thankful we are for all the calls, messages, and support we’ve been getting. It truly means a lot to our family that so many of you trust us when it comes to helping with bees.

Right now, our apiary is completely full and we’re at capacity, so we aren’t able to take on any additional bee rescues at this time. That’s not something we take lightly, we always want to help when we can.

Thank you again for supporting our family and what we’re building. And if you’re looking for fresh local honey please stop by our roadside stand. ❤️🍯🐝

Most people see this and think it’s just a w**d, but this is daisy fleabane. It’s actually a solid food source for honey bees here in Florida.

It blooms when a lot of other plants start slowing down, and it’s still producing nectar and pollen. I see bees working it all the time around my place. I let it grow in a few spots and just mow around it now.

If you’ve got some of this growing, it’s doing more than you think. It’s helping support pollinators right in your yard.

Pretty cool for something most people overlook.

🐝 FREE BEE REMOVAL (SOME SITUATIONS) 🐝

Hey y’all, David here with My2Sons Bee & Honey Co.

My phone has been lighting up today with bee calls and I love it!

If you’ve got a swarm at ground level or bees in something like a bush, utility box, or low branch, I’ll come get them FREE. No charge at all. Send me a text with a picture and an address.

Now just to be upfront…

If they’re:
• Inside a wall (unlikely)
• In a tree cavity (no way)
• Or anything that requires cutting or opening something up (depends)

That’s a bigger job and usually runs a FEW hundred depending on what’s involved.

Simple rule:
Easy access = FREE
Cut-out work = Paid
