The baskets are delivered, the turkeys are thawing, and our Adopt-a-Thanksgiving Basket project has officially wrapped up for the year—and thanks to the generosity of this community, it was a huge success!

Because of the kindness of local families, businesses, and organizations, we were able to deliver thirty-six complete Thanksgiving meals to households across Nelson County. Thirty-six! Each basket was packed with care and creativity, and each one helped make a family’s holiday a little brighter.

What started as a “let’s see what happens” idea quickly grew into something bigger than I imagined. And you proved (once again) that neighbors helping neighbors is just how Nelson County does things 🤍

🍂 Saturday Stand Update 🍂

As the season changes, I’ve put the last of my garden goodies on the stand — a little taste of summer before the fall weather really settles in 🤎

Today you’ll find:
• Yellow squash
• Zucchini
• Carrots 🥕
• Tomatoes (variety of kinds) 🍅
• Gourds 🎃
• Red Canna Lily bulbs 🌺

Also on the stand:
• 🍪 The Discard Kitchen – sugar cookies & monster cookies, $10 per pack
• ☕ Fill Your Cup Coffee Co. – locally roasted coffee beans
• 🧼 Sateren Sisters – bath & body products
• 🥚 Farm-fresh eggs – $3/dozen (in the big cooler)

While garden produce will naturally taper off, that doesn’t mean the stand will close up for the season. We’ll continue to post when new goodies or vendor items are available — and we’ve got a few fun community projects in mind to carry us through the colder months. 😜

If you still have extras from your garden, canned goods, or homemade treats to share, please keep contributing! Every little bit helps keep the stand vibrant and full — even as the weather cools down.
