Please join us this Friday for our 8th Annual Tour De Farm. Last year we had a devastating flood that left farmers on our main land site without anything. We are happy to see many farmers back despite the discouragement from the weather… please join US this Friday July 26th from 2pm to 6 PM and learn more of what drives the farmers we support.

Exciting News! Our World Farmers staff teamed up with farmers Marie and Jean to install a game-changing rotary plow on their BCS tractor. This helpful attachment, recommended by our staff, streamlines bed preparation and creates well-defined pathways for efficient planting. Thanks to a hands-on demo from our team, Marie and Jean are now all set for a garlic planting extravaganza! Cheers to a bountiful harvest ahead!

Last month, World Farmers enthusiastically welcomed a team of wonderful young volunteers from the Springfield Food Policy Council to Flats Mentor Farm. This amazing group of 11 students, worked alongside staff and farmers to clean up the farm, carefully removing ground cover sheets and ensuring that the farmland is ready for next year. Thank you, volunteers!

We are so thankful! 
Last week, Senator Eldridge and Representative Sena showed their support for small-scale farmers, ear-marking state funds to help our farmers purchase farm equipment and establish irrigation to grow additional crops for sale in their communities and local farmers’ markets.

This Thursday is Farmers’ Day!  A day to honor and thank all the hardworking farmers who grow and harvest to feed us. Despite the unpredictable nature of farming, farmers are tenaciously optimistic, facing challenges head on, and ever evolving to ensure that our communities are well-fed!
