🍌 As close as it's going to get to an Ohio-grown banana! If you've ever wanted to try a pawpaw, now's your chance! These beauties come from pawpaw cultivars - trees bred for their big & flavorful fruits.

🥟 Fry Pie lovers rejoice! Fall means seasonal flavors like Pumpkin and Buckeye from The Fry Pie Lady.

🍯 Cozy up with your honey and a seasonal mead from Crafted Artisan Meadery.

Shining a light on one of our featured vendors for October! ✨

MRG Farm owners Dave and Marthe Grohman operate a small berry, vegetable, flower, and tree farm in Hanover, Ohio. The journey has been a work of art, love, and life.

Their farmland has been in David’s family for four generations. It began as Grandpa Giffen’s farm, encompassing his love of the land and family which he passed down to his children and their offspring. Aunt Mary planted the blueberries and cultivated them with tender care. The berries are grown using no chemicals,

Dave and Marthe began making blueberry jam and giving it away to family and friends as gifts during the holidays. Martha planted the raspberry plants on the little hill above the blueberries and they added them into the jam. They love making jam in their kitchen using Best Agricultural Practices which focuses on maximizing fruit quality, managing harvest timelines, and enforcing strict food safety practices.

Their family farming enterprise has grown from the berres that were originally planted and a small garden just for themselves to a small business that creates their products with care and joy through the growing season to harvest and beyond.

Come meet Dave and Marthe here at the Keller Market House on Saturday, October 17th between 10:00 am - 1:00 pm and sample their preserves and crackers!

As we contemplate what it means to be in our tenth year of operating not-for-profit community markets, our board of directors and senior staff members met for a retreat last month.

This was an opportunity outside of day-to-day demands for reflection, prioritizing and strategic planning. We've come a long way AND we have so much opportunity to do more.

We're grateful to the Decorative Arts Center of Ohio for hosting us at their Wendel Art Garage, and to the amazing Megan Ge**er for leading us through this strategic planning process!

Over the course of the afternoon, we clarified the core values that anchor our work and outlined our priorities for the next three to five years.

Our mission remains unchanged, but we've updated the language to better communicate what we do as a non profit organization.

In all that we do, this mission is at the core:

✨ We make local food more accessible, support our farmers and small businesses, and create connections that strengthen our community. ✨

It's a big mission, and we believe there's something in there that matters to everyone. We hope that you'll be a part of our next ten years of putting Real Food Within Reach for Lancaster and Fairfield County!

We will close 15 minutes early today (at 3:45 pm) for 250 Plates!

250 Plates is a community dinner with an inspired menu of locally sourced food prepared by the chefs of participating downtown restaurants, drinks, and live music. It is a wonderful annual event that benefits Fairfield County food pantries, Keller Market House & Lancaster Farmer's Market, and Destination Downtown Lancaster.

We got to hang out with our friends from Visit Fairfield County Ohio and Destination Downtown Lancaster this evening to show off all that our community has to offer, at the Hocking Hills Lodging Owners Association's vendor fair.

Realtors and short-term rental hosts, keep us in mind for housewarming gifts and welcome packages! Everyone one loves local, and we've got a great selection of delicious food items and unique handmade gifts.

Our DIY gift basket station is up all year long, or talk to us if you'd like to plan something ahead!

⏰ This is it, folks! Last call to get your tickets for 250 Plates.

🍽️ THIS Sunday, September 27th, from 5 to 8 pm, 250 Plates will bring our community together at The Mill Event Center. This glorious farm-to-table dinner is thoughtfully prepared by the chefs from your favorite downtown restaurants.

💚 And the best part? All proceeds support local food pantries, Destination Downtown Lancaster and our organization that runs the Keller Market House and Lancaster Farmers Market.

Your ticket includes a five-course, family-style meal made with locally sourced ingredients, two drink tickets, and live music throughout the evening. It's going to be a magical night, and we hope to see you there!

✨ Meet the Maker: Connie's Little Bakery

Come meet one of our newest vendors! Connie’s Little Bakery is a cottage scale bakery specializing in desserts and sourdough. Owner Myka's recipes are inspired by childhood memories of baking with her grandma, mom, and sister.

She loves being able to share her family recipes with the community. You can find her caramels, sourdough garlic cheddar biscuits, and sourdough cinnamon coffee cake at Keller Market House.

Stop by the Keller Market House this Saturday, September 19th from 10 am to 12 pm to meet Myka and try free samples of some of her favorites!
