Patty pan squash is here — and if you haven’t tried it yet, you should.

It looks a little like a flying saucer, but it cooks up great. Patty pan squash is tender, mild, easy to cook, and especially good on the grill. Slice it, brush with a little olive oil, add salt and pepper, and grill until tender.

Also on the table today:

🍅 Tomatoes are in!
Beautiful tomatoes available at the farm stand.

💛 Yellow squash is in!
Fresh, local, and ready for supper.

Come grab some good summer produce from the farm stand!

Blueberry season is here!! 🫐

Pick-your-own blueberries start Sunday, May 24th at The Ivy Place!

It is a super fun time to come to the farm — do one thing or do them all:

🍓 Pick your own strawberries
🫐 Pick your own blueberries
🥔 Dig your own potatoes
💐 Cut your own flower bouquet
🥒 Pick your own squash + zucchini

Lots to do, lots to pick, and a great time of year to come see us!

Weird strawberry season. 🍓

Why? We don’t really know for sure, but here are the facts:

March was very warm.
April was hot and dry.
May has been more moderate.

The result?

We never got that big early-season wave of strawberries. We had a bunch of smaller berries, then almost a 2-week gap with very few berries because there just weren’t many blooms in early April.

Fast forward to late May…

The plants look great. We’re seeing lots of big blooms, green berries, and healthy plants. Best guess — we’ve got another 30 days of strawberries.

And one thing is for sure: the taste in May has been outstanding. 🍓

One thing about farming strawberries: just when you think you know what’s going to happen, they’ll prove you wrong.

🥔 Potato digging season!!

Dig your own potatoes while you’re here — it’s super fun, super easy, and super good. We also have a bunch already dug and ready to grab at the stand.

Strawberry season is definitely not over! 🍓 After 2 weeks of low volumes, we will see more strawberries over the next 14-21 days

The fields are showing good blooms and green berries, and we expect to keep picking strawberries until around June 15. The taste is very good right now.

Around the farm:

🫐 Blueberries are looking great. We expect picking to start by June 1, likely sooner.

🖤 Blackberries are turning red and should be ready by June 1 at the latest.

💐 Flowers have really taken off. The field has great blooms right now for cut-your-own bouquets.

🍅 Tomatoes are in — grab some at the stand.

🥒 Squash and zucchini are in. Cucumbers are close.

🌱 Green beans should be ready in about 7 days.

The next few days are going to be hot, so we’re working hard to keep the plants happy and healthy.

Come out and see us at The Ivy Place Berry and Flower Farm!

Closed Tuesday 🍓

The strawberry field needs one more day.

We’re seeing lots of nice green berries and beautiful blooms, so it looks like we have about 30 more days of strawberry season — as long as Mother Nature doesn’t throw us a curve ball.

Blueberries and blackberries are on track for early June.

What a great Mother’s Day at The Ivy Place. 💐🍓

Thank you to everyone who came out to walk the gardens, pick flowers, enjoy the farm, and celebrate the day with us.

A big thank you to all of our vendors, artists, and food trucks for bringing such great products and making the day special.

We’d love to see your pictures! Tag us or drop them in the comments.

The berries and flowers need a little rest, so we will be closed Monday. We’ll be back open on our regular schedule Tuesday.

Thank you again for spending Mother’s Day with us!
