Make your own plant propagation bouquet — Friday, August 28, 3–6pm at 615 Kipling Blvd.

$1 a cutting, or $20 for a full bouquet. 10+ varieties of pothos, monstera, philodendron, begonia, syngonium, plus whatever else is putting out growth that week. Walk through, pick your cuts, I’ll wrap them.

Fun thing about pothos: it almost never flowers in cultivation. The ones sitting in your house are clones of clones, passed hand to hand as cuttings for decades. Which is more or less what we’re doing Friday.

Bring a friend. I’ll teach you how to root them so nothing goes soft in a jar on your windowsill.

Here's the vendor schedule for tomorrow, Thursday, August 27, which happens to be 🥳KIDS FEST🎉 at South Lansing Farmers Market! We're celebrating by hosting a Fun Foods Scavenger Hunt from 3pm until items run out.

The first 50 kids ages 5-12 will receive a bag and a list of 14 snack-size foods for them to find around the market: apples, pears, plums, cherry tomatoes, honey sticks, string cheese, corn nuts, butter popcorn, candied popcorn, freeze dried gummies, small baked treats, and Hawaiian ice.

These items are grown and/or made by vendors, so please understand supplies are limited and respect the max of 2 kids per family so we can share the love :)

✨️𝙑𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙤𝙧 𝙎𝙥𝙤𝙩𝙡𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩: 𝙎𝙢𝙤𝙠𝙞𝙣 𝘽'𝙨✨️

Smokin B's Smoked Cheese 🧀 was started by Kathy and Aaron Brackman in April of 2022, at their home in Hudson, MI. This is their 4th season with the South Lansing Farmers Market.

They bought a smoker and started experimenting with cheese, which was such a hit that they decided to start a business and sell it. They smoke string cheese (mozzarella), cream cheese (so good on an everything bagel), gouda, havarti, and several varieties of cheddar (sharp, extra sharp, habanero). Their most popular seller is smoked pepper jack.

When they aren't at farmers markets, they like to head up north and spend time with their five grandchildren.

Sample all their varieties and take home your favorites... this and every Thursday from 3-7 PM at the corner of Jolly and S. MLK in Lansing. See you there!

​Calling 50 young explorers with keen eyes and healthy appetites! ​The South Lansing Farmers Market is hosting a Fun Foods Scavenger Hunt for kids ages 5-12 this Thursday, August 27, from 3pm until items run out.

50 children (max 2 per family) will receive a bag and a passport with a dozen or so snack-size foods to be found around the market. As items are located, vendors will mark each passport, and hand each child the item offered at their booths, e.g., small fruits and veggies, snack bags of corn nuts and popcorn, string cheese, and small baked treats.
