Orchard Ridge Farm of Kecksburg has just begun to sell fresh produce raised in Somerset and Westmoreland Counties at Lapps Family Market in Latrobe.

Orchard Ridge Farm of Kecksburg has been selling fresh produce raised in Westmoreland and surrounding Counties at Lapps Family Market on the east edge of Latrobe across from Lazor Furniture since July of 2017.

You all have been belly-achin' for watermelon, and we have watermelon 🍉! The locals are just getting started so the supply is a bit limited, don't wait until Saturday. We have sugar baby seedless, regular seeded, and a few yellow melons. We are loaded up with fresh produce, it's getting very close to the peak of the summer season. No blueberries, the season has been very short thanks to the April freeze. We do have lots of strawberries. Eggplant 🍆, a great variety of peppers including colored bell peppers and sweet and hot bananas. Beans, green yellow and purple. Tomatoes everywhere, beautiful sweet corn, cantaloupe, cabbage, still SC peaches and on and on. Lapp Family Market Wednesday thru Friday 9-5 and Saturday 9-4.

Aaahhh, it's much cooler and less smoky this week and we are grateful, as is the produce! A mostly full lineup this week, we've added yellow beans, eggplant and sweet and hot banana peppers. We have a much better supply of green bell peppers this week as well as green leaf lettuce. Three colors of tomatoes, we have a limited amount of green tomatoes for the first time this season. Be prepared for an abrupt end to blueberries and peaches, if you want them don't wait too long, they are here now. We have beautiful cherry tomatoes this week as well as fresh strawberries from Somerset County. We have local sweet corn and cantaloupes from the Chambersburg area. Lapp Family Market in Latrobe, Wed thru Fri 9-5 and Sat 9-4.

Yup, it's smoky over here as well but we're still here and we are freshly stocked with sweet corn, cantaloupe and watermelon all from the Chambersburg area. These are the first local melons of the year for us,. don't let a little smoke ruin your summer weekend, we'll be here till 5 today and 9-4 tomorrow (Saturday).

Come and get it. It's another scorcher and we have southern cantaloupe and watermelon as well as fresh picked sweet corn. We have peaches, cherries, strawberries and blueberries. That's hot weather food right there. FAIR WARNING: blueberries are in very short supply because of the spring freeze, we will do our best but supply is short and the demand is high. Plenty of tomatoes, lettuce, onions, cukes and zukes. We have cabbage and the first of the green bell peppers. Red beets, Kohl Rabi, potatoes, pickles, broccoli, cauliflower etc. Lapp Family Market Wednesday thru Friday 9-5 and Saturday 9-4.

It's beginning to look a lot like summer! We have watermelon and cantaloupe although they are still southern states produce, the locals won't be here till nearer the end of the month. Peaches this week are also from SC as they will be all season. We have blueberries and a few strawberries and black raspberries, all from the local surrounding counties. No corn this week unfortunately. Fresh garlic, potatoes and green beans, that's a healthy, hearty summer dinner, add fresh tomato slices and you've got a classic. And just like that it is SUMMER!! But we are out here in the heat on the porch of the Lapp Family Market in Latrobe stocked with a lot of good stuff for your holiday weekend. On the top of the list is sweet corn from the Chambersburg area and southern watermelons. Sorry, still no cantaloupe, it may be a few weeks yet. We have Kohl Rabi, fresh garlic, red beets, even a few by the box if you're interested. Also fresh lettuce green beans, carrots, cabbage, beautiful Candy onions, a very few red raspberries, and we have the first of the blueberries! Plenty of the staples, tomatoes, Southern peaches, potatoes, cucumbers, zucchinis etc. Beat the heat this week, hang in there, it will be Christmas before you know it!😁 Wednesday thru Friday 9-5, and CLOSED this coming Saturday for Independence Day. Happy 250th to the US of A!

We're set up and ready to go on a beautiful June Wednesday. We.have plums again, as well as South Carolina peaches, and green beans! We've got a good supply of tomatoes, red and yellow as well as lettuce, red beets, and broccoli. The usual zucchini and cucumbers, cabbage, onions and red potatoes. We have the very first of the fresh garlic as well as garlic scapes, a nice option for sauteed dishes and garnish. We have a very few black raspberries. Fresh shelled peas, spinach and sugar peas. Also some nice fresh cut flower bouquets today. We are at the Lapp Family Market Wednesday thru Friday 9-5 and Saturday 9-4. Happy Wednesday!

It's a beautiful early summer week and we are all set up and ready for you at Lapp Family Market on the east edge of Latrobe. We have added Red beets, fresh spinach and broccoli to our lineup this week as well as Black and Red Raspberries. Unfortunately, we have no strawberries. I am unsure whether we will be able to get any for the weekend, but if we do we will post accordingly. We have a nice supply of South Carolina peaches, both white and yellow this week. Just a reminder, peach season will end very early this year because all our peaches will be from southern states. The tomatoes are especially beautiful this week. We have both broccoli and cauliflower this week and plenty of cabbage. Sugar peas, pickles and red and green lettuce. Of course the usual zukes and cukes, onions and potatoes etc. Have a blessed week. Wednesday thru Friday 9-5, Saturday 9-4.

It's warm and humid out here but we are set up and ready to supply you with your fruit and produce needs. We've added plums and peaches to the fruit offering and red leaf lettuce, kohl rabi, and grape.tomatoes to the veggie lineup. We have strawberries! When they are gone they are gone, don't wait until Saturday.
Important Note! Our peaches this season will most likely all be from South Carolina or other southern states. The several nights in April with temps in the low 20's was devastating for the orchards in PA, MD, and WV. Almost the entire peach crop in the tri-state area is wiped out. Yes, that includes Chambersburg peaches, they will be scarce this year. Bear with us as we attempt to source peaches, the season will likely be over in July rather than August since the fruit is coming from the South.

We are back for another season of fresh fruits and vegetables from Westmoreland and surrounding counties. We are on the front porch of Lapp Family Market on Route 30 just east of Latrobe. On our first day we are offering lots of tomatoes, strawberries (they are selling fast, don't wait until Saturday), green leaf lettuce, local asparagus, new red potatoes, cukes, cukes, onions, cabbage, beautiful snow white cauliflower and red beets and more. We look forward to bringing you the best of summer on a weekly basis right through October. We are open Wednesday thru Friday 9-5 and Saturday 9-4. See you soon!
