🚨 Laurel & Jones County we need you to sign this and help SPREAD the word!
A year or so ago we had a group of patrons on our patio enjoying lunch when they started hearing the cry’s of tiny baby kittens. They were trapped under our stage and we had to get them out and to safety. But there was no one to call… no help to be found other than us posting their pictures on Facebook and asking if anyone could take on care for these three small kittens.
We did call all the shelters in our area who do so much good work but every single one was full. They could offer no assistance. We called all the vets in town and same answer… “I’m sorry we can’t help.” It’s not their fault for having to turn us down… the resources are just simply not there.
And THAT is why there needs to be change. It is the year 2026 and it’s unacceptable that we don’t have number to call for help when it comes to animals. As a business in Downtown Laurel, animal lovers, & with our entire staff being residents of Jones County we are here to say enough is enough! Let’s all work together to create a solution. 🐾
Thankfully, there is a group of people now who are actively working on this and they NEED your signatures to show the Board of Supervisors, City Council members, and all the powers that be that the residents of Jones County are tired of animals being dumped and left behind to suffer. We should have a number to call that will say YES, they can help. But it’s time to create that for the future of our community and we encourage you to sign this petition & SHARE this info with everyone you know.
Let’s get involved and make where we live the best it can be. ♥️
