Good Friday Morning!

The farm market is open from 9 am to 4 pm today. We have okra, jalapeno peppers, banana peppers, green bell peppers, and Bok choy. For herbs we have rosemary, basil, and sage. We also have daily collected chicken eggs and a few New Zealand rabbits for sale. We use organic methods for all our vegetables and animals.

The peas, cukes, and beans continue to be growing well. Cabbage, rutabaga, parsnips, broccoli, cauliflower, radish, beets, carrots, mustard greens, kale, and collards have been planted and growing 😊. We harvested our first round of lettuce last week! There is nothing like fresh lettuce and as we know it is one of the dirty dozen vegetables that are heavily fertilized, and pesticides used commercially.

We are planning to incubate another round of chickens in October. Also in October, we will be processing our 2 meat pigs we have been raising for the last 6 months. So, October should be a busy month for us on the farm.

Finally, we will be welcoming a new granddaughter the end of this month!!!

Please come out and visit the farm!
Have a WONDERFUL DAY!

Good Morning!

The farm continues to be zealous and bursting with blossoms. The luffa is in full bloom and has many fruits on it. We are seeing many hummingbirds and bees. Pollinators 😊!! The flowers are beautiful to see about the farm.
We have started to see what demand we may have for microgreens. We have offering radish, corn, Sunflower, and pea sprouts for sale and have included them in our CSA boxes and will for another few weeks. Please let us know your thoughts.
Again, I continue to plant fall crops. The peas, cukes, and beans do seem to be taking root this time. This year has been the worst year to get them going. I have planted inside the hoop and then outside. But they died very shortly after planting. The spring brought mildew fungus on my peas, beans, and cukes in the hoop house. So, I tried planting in the outside garden to the same avail. Not sure if it’s been the humidity or what. So, I am trying them again in the hoop and so far, they are doing okay. Brussel sprouts, cabbage, Kohlrabi, Turnips, Rutabaga, greens, broccoli, and cauliflower seem to be doing well. Bok choy is ready, and the carrots and lettuce should be available again soon. Beets shouldn’t be far behind.
Market garden is open from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm daily except Thursdays. We are closed Thursdays. We have okra, cherry tomatoes, daily collected chicken eggs, hot and bell peppers, (organic methods used).
We also have a few New Zealand rabbits for sale.
Please come out and see the farm. We have enjoyed our visitors and educating them on the dirty dozen vegetables that are grown with numerous commercial chemicals. We only use organic practices. Healthy & Wise 😊!
Have a WONDERFUL DAY!

Farm market is open from 9 am to 4:00 pm! We have limited supply left of radish, corn, Sunflower, and pea sprouts for sale.
We also have okra, cherry tomatoes, daily collected chicken eggs, hot and bell peppers, (organic methods used). We want to thank everyone who has been supporting and patronizing our farm. We are truly blessed.
Another week has gone by! Where does the time and energy go? Most of the fall crops have been planted and under insect cloth. I have to say I liked it when I could see all the crops at one glance. But hopefully the vegetables are safe from pesky pests. I will plant the fall potato crop the end of this month. In October I will plant the onions and garlic. I am going to try growing potatoes in 20 gallon bags this fall. I am hoping the labor of harvesting the potatoes will be less intensive. We shall see :-)
Have a wonderful Saturday!

As I said I have learned my lesson and am covering them with insect netting. The pests continue to drive me crazy!!
The “she shed” has been delivered and we will slowly begin to build shelves and construct other displays for our freeze-dried spices, fruits, and vegetables. We have begun advertising our excess produce for the market stand. I continue to plant quantities to supply our CSA boxes and hopefully enough to sell excess.
We have completed our freezer camp and processed our roosters. The little girls(chicken) coop is finished, and they have begun to lay eggs!
Come out and see the farms new gardens and animals.

Have a wonderful day!

We planted our 2nd succession of eggplant, broccoli, and bok choy. I have learned my lesson and am covering them with insect netting. The pests are driving me crazy!!
We wished Trish a Happy Birthday yesterday! May this year bring you happiness and joy!
We are expecting the “she shed” the end of this week or beginning of next. That is where we will display our freeze-dried spices, fruits, and vegetables. We will also begin having an excess market stand. I am planting quantities to supply our CSA boxes and hopefully enough to display the excess this fall.
The luffa is growing wonderfully.
I will install the new irrigation for the additional garden areas. We also will be engaging in the freezer camp the beginning of next month. We have 12 chickens that will be enrolled. I also plan to incubate another round of chicks in October.
Come out and see the farms new gardens and animals.

Good Saturday Morning Everyone!
Market garden is open, and we have Cherry Tomatoes & Green Peppers!
It’s been a while since I posted anything. The days seem to get shorter, and the task list seems to get bigger! So, what have we been up to in the last month or so?
We have been inundated with BUGS! There are everywhere. The biggest culprit has been the stink bug. I have been spending 3 to 4 hours a day trying to find and remove them from all my plants. I have been removing the leaves of where they have laid their eggs, but the next day they are back again in full force. We have a wonderful friend and helper who comes out each week to work with me. Trish has been a God sent! 😊 She knows her plants and she knows her bugs. I couldn’t imagine how much more time I would have had to work on bug control if not for her. Thank you so much Trish!
I have completed the baby (chicken) romping room shed. The girls will continue to grow and then we will add them to the existing flocks. The chickens are loving this time of year. They are getting so many extra veggies from our gardens. In the winter we give them mostly brassicas and then collect dandelion greens around our property and feed them. But currently, they are in seventh heaven with the varieties.
We have bought a used shed from our friend Pasty, who works at Graceland of McColl. This will be the 3rd building we have bought from her, and we have enjoyed the experiences. She has a wealth of knowledge, excellent service, and that is why we have and will continue to go to her for our shed needs. Thank you so much Pasty!
We are working on Freeze dried herbs and vegetables. We are making combinations of these to see if there is an interest. We have given our CSA customers the option of having these in their weekly boxes. We will begin to offer freeze dried vegetables, fruits, and herbs soon. My favorite is freeze dried strawberries 😊. They taste amazing! That will be a next year offering as the strawberry season is over for us.
Finally, I have been working on second succession plantings and have begun to start seedlings for the fall planting.
Have a wonderful Saturday and we hope to see you all at the farm!

Good Saturday Morning

We are open from 9 to 4 pm today. We have onions, green peppers, and yellow squash!
Our CSA weekly vegetable boxes have been desired more than we expeected for this summer. This fall we are hoping to be able to have a few on the wait list added to production and a bit to sell on the market stand.
Have a Wonderful Day!

Good Saturday Morning 😊!
The farm stand is open from 9 am to 4 pm today. We have squash, green peppers, broccoli, onions, and beans. Come out and take a tour of our farm.
A very busy week for us. Moving baby rabbits from their mom to their own pens (had to build). Getting the baby chickens (not so small now) into their chicken tractor. Continuing to build their coop (in between all the other chores).
The vegetables are bursting with growth. The potato plants are taller than I am. They are mounded about 2.5 feet so when I stand in the walkways, I am 2.5 feet below where the greenage starts. We should have a nice harvest. The pea and cauliflower plants didn’t do well this spring. I will try again in the fall. I have decided to cover all the cabbage, broccoli, and cauliflower with insect netting this fall. The moths are my biggest issues I have faced this spring and summer.
Prepping gardens for fall planting and weeding is a never-ending chore. I want to thank Kennedy and Trish for their hard work and to thank Trish for all her wonderful flowers she has shared with us. Without them I would be LOST! I also want to thank Patsy. There isn’t a week that goes by that she doesn’t bring us some of her harvest. We also managed to leave the farm to share an evening meal with Mr. & Mrs. Hobbs and friends. They had a gathering and used our vegetables. Oh, what a wonderful meal we had. Her squash casserole was to dye for !! 😊. We also had a wonderful couple from Scotia village stop by and take a tour of our farm. We enjoyed their visit tremendously and are in hopes many other residents come out to enjoy our farm as well. We have a gulf cart to assist with tours.
We are very blessed to have friends like them. Thank you all!
Have a wonderful day.

Good Morning !
Th farm stand is open today from 1-4 pm and we have Broccoli, yellow squash, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, Zucchini, and lettuce. Please feel free to stop by and see our farm.
Our flowers are blooming in full force. The Magnolia tree is so beautiful.
The baby rabbits are growing faster than weeds. We are weaning them today. I wont breed Peanutbutter(male) and Jelly(female) again until end of september. I have noticed that the nigerian rabbits seem to struggle with the heat. I have them in shade but the female breathes hard when its hot. I have bought her a battery operated fan that I hang on the cage and put frozen milk jugs (filled with water) in her cage to help her. I may have to consider a air conditioned space for her in the hottest part of the summer.
I havent had a lot of time available to finish the baby chicks coop but they are loving there large chicken tractor.
I have completed my second succession of vegetable seeds that include pumkin pie pumpkins and jack o latern pumpkins. My corn tassled very quickly this year. The corn is only a foot to 2 feet tall and tassled. A neighbor gave us some pointers for next year. I will try that and hopefully next year have a good harvest of corn.
Have a WONDERFUL DAY!
