The last two years for us involved a move to NH and back to CT and last winter it was discovered I had a brain tumor which required surgery so we put farming on hold. I'm doing good now and we will slowly be reintroducing farming back into our lives. Meet our new breeding sows. They are safely tucked away in the barn of winter but come spring they will be out on pasture. Next spring we will have piglets for sale. Keep checking in we will have more to come.

This year we only raised two pigs, one for ourselves and one for a friend. We got two Amish piglets and put them out in the woods and rotated their space around. This allowed them to eat the undergrowth, the acorns, frolic in the mud and bask in the sun. The would rut for hours and eat Amish Non-GMO grain. I like to think they were happy pigs. Today when I went to process the pig the butcher said it was one of the nicest pigs he has ever seen and we now have a freezer full of meat. Treat them well and the bounty will be plentiful. Our motto is and always will be a good life and one bad day.

We found a home for our 45 plus lb Turkey. We have decided to donate it to the Soup Kitchen in Norwich. Hopefully it will feed a lot of people in need this Holiday season.

Here are our Pasture Raised Turkeys. They are moved twice a day and they love it! Nothing better than a fresh piece of grass.
