Unfortunately, Belle was exposed to sustained rainfall during today’s garden operations and has informed management that these are not suitable conditions for a princess of her caliber.

Despite being genetically engineered for water retrieval, she refused to exit the side-by-side and instead observed the situation from dry shelter while the work continues on in this Michigan monsoon.

Morale is low, but she will continue providing emotional support from the side-by-side to the best of her abilities. 🌧️🐾

Garden prep around here doesn’t just mean vegetables 🌸

Between planting flowers, hauling vegetable plants around, and Belle splitting her time between supervising projects and dramatically retreating to the garage every time the rain starts again, it’s been a busy start to the holiday weekend.

Meanwhile, Michigan continues to provide premium cold rain, hurricane-force winds, and emotional damage as our official spring weather… but the flowers are planted, the vegetables are going in, and morale is cautiously improving.

At this point we’re just working around whatever weather pattern Michigan wakes up and chooses each morning. Fresh produce, summer flowers, and fully stocked stand days are slowly but surely on the horizon around here!

The farm stand got a little upgrade this week thanks to our resident handyman, Kyle. 🔨🐾

The girls’ eggs have officially been moved into their fancy new cooler setup, because egg production is absolutely humming right now.

AND for the first time ever… we’ve got fresh homegrown Michigan asparagus at the stand! 🌱

The weather finally broke in the Mitten and Laverne continues to be a daily menace to society.

He was briefly placed in temporary air jail while the situation was reviewed internally.

Unfortunately, management folded immediately.

Meanwhile, the farm stand is currently stocked to the absolute brim with duck eggs 🥚because the girls are apparently operating on a very aggressive production schedule this season.

The ducks have returned from their daily Pilgrimage around the property - a very important daily expedition involving mud puddle inspections, pest control, yelling at invisible threats, and sticking their bills into places they absolutely do not belong.

Every single day they march out like brave explorers setting off into the wilderness (our property) and return approximately 30 minutes later like they’ve survived a life-changing journey.

Spring may be taking its sweet time here in Michigan, but here at Belle’s Bounty we’re already impatiently waiting for summer.
