These past few days have been crazy warm and the pigs weren’t ready. If you didn’t know, pigs can’t sweat. So when you see a pig happily rolling in mud it is the only way they have to cool off.

If you see a pig a panting… give it a wallow!

Boy when you think you have a plan… expected these chicks in three days. Not today. But you must adapt and make it work in this homesteading biz.

All made it through the mail and hoping to try new things to make sure they all make it as close to 6 and 8 weeks as possible. Hopefully the weather will cooperate. 🤞

Still taking pre-orders but now for this group. Also tossing around the idea of a chicken butchering class or two towards the end of the season. Anyone interested?

Sometimes you can get frustrated by weeds until you realize that your pigs and chickens love them! Weeds quickly become valuable instead of killed off (in the right places of course.)

Chicks have moved out on the pasture and couldn’t be happier! They will get moved twice daily and soon split into three tractors so they have more room to grow nice and big.
