Our farmers market vendors work HARD.
When you see a table full of beautiful produce at the market, it’s easy to see the finished product and forget everything it took to get it there.
For many of our local produce farmers, the market season can mean 40–60+ hours a week of work, with peak planting and harvest weeks pushing even higher.
Their work starts long before market morning.
🌱 Seeds are started and plants are nurtured
🌱 Fields are planted, weeded and watered
🌱 Crops are monitored for pests, disease and weather damage
🌱Produce is harvested, washed, sorted and packaged
🌱Vehicles are loaded, driven and unloaded
🌱Booths are set up and broken down
🌱Then they spend hours at the market selling what they worked so hard to grow
And when the market is over? They still have a farm waiting for them.
So the next time you walk through the market and see a basket of tomatoes, a beautiful bunch of carrots or a table overflowing with fresh produce, remember: you aren’t just buying vegetables. You’re supporting countless hours of physical labor, early mornings, late nights and someone betting their livelihood on a seed they planted months ago.
Our vendors pour an incredible amount of time, sweat and heart into what they bring to market.
