The Lexington Farmers Market The LFM educates people about healthy eating, nutrition and sustainable agriculture, and provides a social experience that builds community.

The Lexington Farmers' Market connects residents with local farmers and vendors, providing greater access to fresh, locally-grown and -produced food to community members of all income levels.

Thanks to all who stopped by last week to celebrate National Farmers' Market Week - it was a great day and so fun to see people getting to know where their food comes from! This week we are continuing the good vibes with August abundance: watermelon, peaches, squash, sweet corn, and more! See you tomorrow!

Our returning monthly vendors this week are WICKED BESS, with specialty shrubs perfect for a mixed drink, and RASCAL RELISH, bringing a variety of fermented foods to elevate your sandwiches and beyond.

This week is BIKE TO MARKET WEEK! Stop by the Bike Corral when you arrive to pick up your $2 gift certificate, courtesy of the LFM and Friends of Lexington Bikeways.

It's National Farmers’ Market Week, our favorite market of the season where we celebrate all the great things farmers’ markets do for their communities. You’ll find signs around the market sharing all the great reasons to support the LFM, interesting facts about each farm and food vendors posted at each tent, and a scavenger hunt and prizes for the kids (pick up at the POP Club table!). It's the end of July, with summer going by in a flash! This week, LFM farmers are bringing sweet corn, tomatoes, cucumbers, peaches, berries, and much more summer abundance, all freshly harvested. For a quick bite to eat, our prepared food vendors have a wide variety of delicious meals including tamales, empanadas, lobster rolls, and shawarma. Get the grill ready with options from COPICUT FARMS, LIBERTY FISH and CAPTAIN MARDEN'S SEAFOOD, and make the LFM your place for fresh, local and community!

NOTABLE NOTES:
We’re excited to introduce MICROCOSM COFFEE ROASTERS to the market this week, offering freshly roasted beans as well as cold brew coffee for a little market pick-me-up. A family-run, micro-batch roastery based in West Boylston, they roast on an all-electric, ventless roaster (no gas, zero combustion) and source from farmer-owned cooperatives, each vetted on its own terms - fair trade, organic, and women-led lots included. Stop by and welcome them to the market!

PETSI PIES is back with everyone’s summer favorite - freshly-baked pie to end the day! In place of ice cream, bring home gelato from BLACK-EYED SUSAN SHEEP DAIRY to keep your dessert perfectly local!

The LEXINGTON CONSERVATION DEPT. will be at the market this week, not only sharing information on local conservation groups and a native plant guide, but also hosting a NATIVE PLANT SALE. This is the only time native plants will be available at the LFM this season, so get those garden gloves ready for local pollinators!

There is lots of talk around whether fresh produce is safe to eat these days. Farmers’ markets are a place where you can trust in the quality and safety of what you consume, locally grown and freshly harvested. The LFM has always been a producer-only market, carefully vetting the farmers and vendors that attend the LFM to ensure that they grow or craft the food sold at the LFM. In turn, when customers build a personal relationship with the farmers at the market, they have a better understanding about the work it takes to bring healthy, local food to the community. Head to the market this week with confidence and find a great selection of locally grown produce, meat, fish, baked goods and more to create delicious, healthy meals!

LFM farmers are harvesting new veggies every week, and summer favorites like zucchini and yellow squash, cucumbers, broccoli, corn and tomatoes are abundant! Head on down, shop local and thank a farmer!

NOTABLE NOTES:
Monthly vendor WICKED BESS will be at the market with refreshing shrubs, perfect for a mixed cocktail or a summer soda.

BOSTON SMOKED FISH is back this week with tasty smoked fish filets and patés, great for appetizers, a cool midday lunch on a hot day, and just because!

We had a blast last year when the SOMERVILLE FERMENTATION FESTIVAL visited the LFM, and they are back this week at the Community Tent. Stop by and learn about vegetable fermentation and ways to preserve beautiful summer produce!

NIEMI's APIARY will not be at the market today; you can find local honey from STILLMAN'S FARM and their very own hives!
