This one was a little extra special, and deserves a spot of its own while we wait for the last few fairs in Sept to wrap up and we get everyone's final results. So many amazing highlights with these goats, but even more with the girl showing them.
Addy was just 6 months old when I met her, and we had the privilege of being her babysitter for the first few years of her life. When her parents reached out this spring and said Addy wanted to show goats for her first year of 4H, I was so excited to be able to offer them the last 2 I had available that would be eligible.
And boy she did not disappoint! She put in the work bottle feeding and raising them and it showed in the ring (and out) how much those boys loved her. For her first year showing, she did amazing! Not to mention the goat was almost bigger than she was...
Her big goat won 4th overall market dairy and Reserve Grand Champion in born and raised.
The smaller goat she got 4th in born and raised.
She even shared the ring with Amelia and they took one of her goats in the P*e Wee class together. Even though the girls barely remember each other it's so fun to see their stories connect once again from when they played together as tiny little girls.
I couldn't be more proud, and can't wait to see how she does in the future!
