❄️Winter.❄️ The time of year when we all love to create special holiday treats like deviled eggs, custards, and more. 😋Where are all the eggs though?! The chickens aren’t on the same timeline as we are, are they?

Chickens naturally take a break from laying eggs in the winter. ☃️Their system slows down, and they need to rest, as do we. They are taking that signal to rest from the shorter days, which means less light, as well as colder weather.

Lately, I ‘ve been feeling like we can take a lesson or two from slowing down and observing the nature God created. Turn off all noise, and just listen to the silence. It's good for us. 😉 I could expand, but then this post would get way too long. Come see us at Sycamore Lake Wine Co. 𝐃𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟏𝟗𝐭𝐡, and we can chat in person if you'd like. You can also get some bacon, sausage, bratwurst and more while you're at it! 🥓

All that being said, we do still have eggs, but not as many as in the spring and summer. 🥚 If you intend to stop for chicken eggs, just let me know so I can make sure we have some available for you!

As an alternative, I do want to introduce to you 𝐃𝐔𝐂𝐊 eggs! 🦆🥚 Our oldest daughter has taken on a project raising ducks, so if you would like some duck eggs, she has you covered. See our website for more information on those!

Prepping lavender clones. The first batch of 64 is in process. I wonder how many I can plant this spring… 200-300? I kinda do things to the extreme sometimes. Lol
