No! They are not mini watermelons, they are cucamelons! Also known as Mexican Sour Gherkins. They are a grape-size cucumber flavored crunch bombs with a little citrus note.

They are great in salads or wherever you would use a cucumber ! Maintenance free, just wash and enjoy!

If you didn’t know, now is the time to cut and dry your hydrangeas before they turn brown. To preserve the color to its fullest, cut in the early morning and set them in water to dry in a cool dark place in the basement.

Speaking of Fall 🍁 🍃 🍂, for those of you who are already decorating for October 🎃 , we have autumn simmer pot, potpourri! All the smells of pumpkin pie and apple pie all in one. It’s like a warm hug and of course without any added chemicals scents. We have dehydrated the fruit ourselves and added cinnamon sticks, allspice, clove and ginger 🫚.

Gold Nugget carrots have entered the chat and look how gorgeous they are against Candy and Purple Haze. We know we feast with our eyes first when it comes to food so we are always selecting varieties that are delicious as well as beautiful.

We have our fridge stocked for this weeks market and more to come. Let’s hope the sun makes an appearance at some point to help out some of the veggies and flowers. We are hoping to have sunflower bouquets for your Labor Day events this weekend.

What do you do with duck 🦆 eggs? 🥚

You can do everything you do with a chicken egg with duck eggs!

My favorite thing is to bake desserts with them. They have a greater yolk to white ratio which makes them richer in flavor than a chicken egg. They are also about 1 1/2 times larger than a chicken egg, so substituting should be weighed out in grams when following a recipe.

Check out these delicious Dutch cocoa brownies! It called for an egg an extra chicken egg yolk to make it more decadent but subbing duck eggs achieved that.
