A shout out to my Ripe Tomato Public!
As you may have heard through the Northwest Hills grapevine, I have sold the Deli. Back on
November 26th, I signed off on the end of an era.
For twenty years, I have juggled at least two careers plus raising my beautiful daughter. I made the
decision that it was time to simplify.
Over these many, memorable years I have made friends; I have lost friends. I have had the pleasure of
watching young love become marriage, then a growing family; I have watched little toddlers become
amazing young adults with bright futures; I have seen graduates move on to successful careers. What
a fantastic sidelines seat to my customers lives I have had!
The strong staying power of this deli could never have happened without the phenomenal staff
members that have become my friends, my family, my backbone and my therapists… I only hope that
I have positively impacted their lives as much as they have mine.
The deli’s name, menu & contact info shall remain the same. I am very proud of the fun, somewhat
risqué, creative, customer service-oriented business that exists. I am sure your new Head Tomato will
continue to focus on ‘bringing a smile to your face even before you have eaten’ way of food service.
The transitional period of assistance ends on Friday 12/23. [This date happens to be the twenty-year
mark of closing on the original location in Morris!] My gratitude to all of our loyal and long-time deli
visitors is immeasurable. I ask that you continue to support the legacy that is ‘The Ripe Tomato’ and
never be afraid to request your favorites!
It is time for ‘The Ripe Tomato Lady’ to move on to new chapters. It is a bittersweet but necessary
farewell. You never know where I might pop up next… See you around towne!
