Taking a break with my sister from the seasonal orchard pruning to admire the remarkable Snow & Canadian Geese migration. The lake near the orchard today was full of birds resting on their journey North. Truly, a sight to be seen and experience to be had - outdoors. Enjoy!

This may be peak week for Missouri River Snow Geese migration. 1.4M birds! Bird counts are from Loess Bluffs NWR south of us. We often experience the peak counts a week later locally. An orchard or Desoto Bend visit could be remarkable this week, when the lake ice opens. Enjoy!

40 German-bearded Iris varieties started blooming this week. These 1400 iris were planted in 2020 and should continue blooming for a few weeks. Spectacular. Shelli & Chris have done wonders tending the beds. (GreaterOmahaIrisSociety.org).

840,000 Snow Geese at Loess Bluffs NWR, on their way North! This could be peak week for the waterfowl migration up the Missouri flyway in our area. A must see for Midwest outdoor adventurers. Grab a friend or the family, get outside and have fun! We watch the counts peak around one million birds and then know it will be quite a spectacle to experience!
