Calamity Acres Homestead 23-acre seedling homestead learning to live off the land and willing to share. Hope ya’ll enjoy. 💕

We started this journey in 2021 with a desire to move away from the big urban sprawl and get back to a more ”simple” lifestyle.

Come see us at the Calamity Acres table this Saturday, October 31, at Barrels USA Farmers Market. We’ll have New Country Organics feed as well as processed chickens, and fresh farm eggs (if the ladies cooperate). So stop by, say hello and ask us anything.
It’s also the market’s Halloween Haunt, with a petting zoo, face painting, games and candy for the kids. Costumes encouraged.

Complete tranquility.

Those of you who know me (Emma McCarthy) know that I am on dialysis and hoping for a kidney transplant (for more details, see Emma Needs a Kidney). Unfortunately, that means I spend a fair amount of time in hospital.

To ease the stress of the hospital, these pictures are what I love to look at. As soon as I see them, I feel the tranquility of home, the peace of the countryside, the fresh air (which is ALWAYS a few degrees cooler than the city), and the love for our critters.

What do you use to ease stress?
