How Much Freezer Space Will I Need? 🥩🐖

One of the biggest questions people have before purchasing beef or pork is: “Do I even have enough freezer space?”

If you’ve ever wondered that too, you’re definitely not alone.

Here’s a simple general guide:

Beef
Quarter Beef: about 4–5 cubic feet
Half Beef: about 8–10 cubic feet
Whole Beef: about 16–20 cubic feet

Pork
Half Hog: about 3–4 cubic feet
Whole Hog: about 5–7 cubic feet

Keep in mind, freezer space can vary depending on the size of the animal and how your meat is processed and packaged.

The good news? Many families are surprised to find they do have room — especially with a chest freezer or extra freezer in the garage or basement.
