Wyatt added a few more chicks to the brooder for 8 total 🐣
2 Whiting True Greens that will hopefully lay green eggs
2 Whiting Creoles that will lay green, blue, and teal eggs.
2 Cukoo Marans that lay chocolate brown eggs
2 Sapphire Gems, one of which he named Madi after his sister.

He loves his babies but absolutely will not hold them since learning they carry salmonella. He “hired”
his sister to take them out of the brooder for him to clean it and she is all too happy to help.

Wyatt went to visit his grandma and grandpa in AZ and the girls had quite the surprise for him when he came back.
They have been averaging about 2 eggs a day the last couple days which is so exciting, but it also means we aren’t quite ready to sell just yet. We’ll keep everyone posted about when production ramps up!

Things have been pretty quiet around the Jurassic Coop lately. Wyatt worked hard this fall to get things to a low maintenance point where the only thing we really have to do daily is thaw their water.

But it’s Christmas Break, so that means chicken chores including a thorough clean of their coop, fresh bedding, and new treats. Blue showed her gratitude with some uncharacteristically sweet cuddles for Wyatt and his siblings today.

We still don’t have eggs, but it’s cold and dark, so we’ll let them keep free loader privileges for now 😉
