There are a few things on my mind during this interesting time as a farmer, being in a drought for the third time in four years, with the last measurable rain on July 8 after the driest May of all time, with July following suit as the driest on record.

The one thing we can’t control is the weather, with droughts, flooding, hot temps, and early frost/ freezes, which we have experienced at our farm during the past 12 years.

We are lucky to have the ability to water with planning and to have the manpower to tend to our plants' needs during this difficult time as a farmer.

It is my daily activity to watch the weather during this time for rain and temperatures to best take care of the plants, which can be stressful and time-consuming during these times.

Also, it makes me think of how new farmers can deal with this pressure because they don’t have the experience or resources to get through these difficult times.

As a farming community, we need to come together to support each other because everyone’s purpose is to produce food and products for our communities and to get the next generation involved in farming so we have farmers going forward.

Farmers are the best people to have on your side because we are strong-willed, problem solvers, and positive thinkers.

We have a great sense of pride in our products in all aspects of our family business because we are the customer service team, delivery team, harvesting team, marketing team, planting team, sales team, watering team, and weeding team.

The business is an active part of our family because of the effort and time we put in each year.

The farm is like our child, which we are watching grow up and become something great in its future years.

We work hard to provide the best quality and varieties of produce to all of our customers.

We appreciate our customers’ positive support of the farm with your business for the past 12 years.
