Friends, business has been painfully slow this past week, and we want to speak honestly with the community that has supported C & P Quality Meats for so many years.
You may have noticed a small increase on a few items. We did not raise those prices because we wanted to. Our cost of beef has continued to climb, and we have now received notice that it is rising again.
We have absorbed as much of those increases as we possibly can.
To put it into perspective, when we sell one of our entire WHOLE-BEEF PACKAGES for $1,849.99, only about $244 remains after paying for the meat itself—and that is before payroll, electricity, refrigeration, packaging, card-processing fees, insurance and all the other expenses required to keep our doors open.
That means we retain only about 13 cents from every dollar of that sale before paying our overhead.
Our fresh 90/10 GROUND CHUCK is currently $8.59 per pound. We recently found comparable lean ground beef priced even higher at Kroger. Even after our small increase, we are still working hard to give local families excellent quality and value.

Our packages contain real cuts your family will actually use—not simply hundreds of pounds quoted at hanging weight, followed by separate processing costs and an uncertain amount of take-home meat.
We are not sharing this to complain or pressure anyone. We know nearly every family is feeling the strain of higher grocery prices. That is exactly why we created these packages in the first place.
We are simply asking: if you need meat, please consider buying it locally from us. If you cannot purchase right now, sharing this post, commenting, tagging a friend or telling someone about our packages truly helps more than you may realize.
Every purchase stays here in our community. It helps us pay our employees, keep our coolers running and continue serving the families who have supported us for nearly 18 years.
