My goal is to surpass me, not y'all. Because I stopped competing with other people a long time ago. The only person I'm trying to beat is the version of myself I was yesterday. Not your progress, not your success, not your timeline, just mine. And that shift changed everything. Because once you stop measuring your growth against someone else's life you finally start focusing on your own.
Comparison is a thief and it'll have you feeling behind when you're right on schedule for your own journey. Some people started earlier, some had more help, some are on a completely different path that has nothing to do with yours. Worrying about them only slows you down. So stop looking sideways and start looking forward.
Am I better than I was last year? Am I stronger than I was last month? Am I closer to my goals than I was yesterday? Those are the only questions that matter. Run your own race, at your own pace, and watch how much faster you grow when you stop wasting energy trying to keep up with people whose lane you were never meant to be in.
