Unable to move and "at one" with the tailgate of my dads 55 Buick station wagon watching H.G. Wells' exeding common imagination in MGM's "THE TIME MACHINE" August 19,1960 at the Albuquerque drive-in, my awareness of the silver screen and Yvette Mimieux in her 2nd film were dreams at night • The scenes of a society of blondes controlling the future surely are facts not in evidence of H.G. Wells and only a concoction of Director George Pal, however; Pal's direction of special-effects man Paul Vogel of "Lady In The Lake" and "Freaks" securely puts viewers back in the 19th century • All of the blondes jumping into a deep dark cavernous hole is Pal's foretelling of fact which came true and eventually did come to pass, but how he knew to add it to Well's story went unwritten in red,,,,,
